Our client is actively seeking a highly experienced Senior Automotive Thermal Management Engineer to join their dedicated, remote-first engineering team. This critical role will focus on the design, analysis, and validation of advanced thermal management systems for a range of automotive applications, with a particular emphasis on electrified powertrains and components. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer principles, and their application in complex automotive environments. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and longevity of vehicle systems through effective thermal control.

- Define system requirements and specifications for thermal management components, such as radiators, heat exchangers, pumps, fans, and coolant circuits.
- Develop and execute comprehensive validation plans, including component and system-level testing, to ensure thermal performance meets design targets.
- Troubleshoot thermal-related issues during development, testing, and production, and implement effective corrective actions.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams (powertrain, chassis, electrical, software) to ensure integrated system design and performance.
- Work with suppliers to develop and qualify thermal management components and systems.
- Analyze field data and customer feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and cost optimization.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices in automotive thermal management.
- Prepare technical reports, design reviews, and presentations for program management and stakeholders.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the team's technical expertise.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in automotive thermal management engineering.
- Proven expertise in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics.
- Hands-on experience with CFD software (e.g., ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+) and thermal analysis tools.
- Familiarity with automotive systems and components, particularly in electric or hybrid vehicles.
- Experience with data acquisition systems and laboratory testing procedures.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate in a remote team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and deliver results within tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of materials used in thermal management systems.
