Focus of the Role
This role as Staff Engineer is key to the success of the Financial Technology group at Telstra and will be responsible and accountable for the following:
• Actively participate in building chapter technical capability through direct mentoring of the team in software engineering practices, understanding of new and emerging technologies, tools, approaches and processes.
• Contribute to continuous evolution of technical components managed by domain by working on technology and architecture roadmaps (mid-term and long-term views).
• Own the engineering operations for the services that the DevOps teams have deployed in production.
• Work across teams to foster an architecture that enables iterative, autonomous development and future scaling. Provide guidance to multiple teams in anticipation of future use cases, helping them make design decisions that minimize the cost of future changes.
• Acquire domain knowledge as needed to drive the work through customer centric lens.

About You
Must have
• Degree level IT qualifications in Software or Systems Engineering.
• 10 years+ hands on experience in developing spring boot applications, in-depth knowledge of microservices architecture.
• Strong background in Programming Languages (Java/Python/Node.JS), Tools and Frameworks.
• Strong background in Software Product Architecture, Development, Testing, and Support of Production Software
• Involved into design and implementation of secure, scalable, fault tolerant systems in cloud (AWS)
• Experience with microservices architecture and development and container orchestration (docker, K8 or other containerisation tech)
• Experience with Operations decision making and incident management.

Role Overview:

Insulation Coordination Studies
Determine the temporary and transient overvoltage stresses on HV equipment and provide the protective level requirements for the surge arresters.
Equipment Lifecycle Management
Manage the lifecycle of high economic value High Voltage equipment such as power transformers, instrument transformers, reactors, capacitors and surge arresters, covering the development of its requirements, specification, supplier management and the validation and verification (testing) of design, manufacturing and commissioning.

+ Create internal and external specifications working closely with system architects, Marketing & other cross-functional teams.
+ Understand memory specifications and come up with system design for memory products.
+ Deliver memory product design specification documents and test objectives.
+ Align the development and validation process with cross-functional teams.
+ Learn constantly, dive into new areas with unfamiliar technologies, and embrace the ambiguity of problem-solving.
+ Apply critical thinking to the results/data of competitive analysis and provide guidance for product development.
+ Work with cross-functional teams, including ASIC, Firmware, and Validation, to ensure seamless product development.
+ Debug Analysis of Product validation issues and come up with the reproduction to verify the fixes
**Qualifications**
**REQUIRED:**
+ Multi-disciplinary experience, including Firmware, HW, and ASIC design
+ Experience in system design of Flash memory or any storage products.
+ Experience with C/C++ in developing Embedded FW & scripting using Python
+ Proven ability to work as part of a global team in multiple geographies
+ B.Sc. in Computer Science or Software / Computer / Electrical Engineering
+ Requires 8-10 years of experience in RT / embedded systems architecture
**PREFERRED:**
+ Knowledge of UFS, PCIe Gen5/6 technology is an advantage
+ Previous experience with storage systems, protocols, and NAND flash - strong advantage
+ Experience in working with DDR4/5, HBM is an advantage
+ Experience in working with FPGA emulation is an advantage
