- Should have expertise in creating data warehouses in AWS utilizing the following tools: EC2, S3, EMR, Athena, Sagemaker, Aurora and Snowflake., Kafka, Kinesis, Glue, Lambda, DMS, AppFlow, PowerBI
- Advanced development experience in cloud technologies such as AWS Aurora/RDS/S3, Lambda, JSON, Python
- Proficiency in scripting, querying, and/or analytics tools: Linux, python, SQL (already covered in description)
Analyze, re-architect and re-platform on premise / cloud data sources to AWS platform using AWS Glue.
- Design, build and automate AWS data pipelines from ingestion of data into consumption layer using Java / Python
Good-to-Have
- Basic knowledge in Redhat Linux and Windows Operating Systems
- Good at Console and the AWS CLI and APIs
- Knowledge of writing infrastructure as code (IaC) using CloudFormation or Terraform.

**Purpose and Scope:**
As a Database Administrator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our pharmaceutical data systems. Your expertise in testing methodologies, data validation, and automation will be essential in maintaining high standards for our data solutions.
You will play a pivotal role in building maintaining and enhancing our data systems across the organization. This is a fantastic global opportunity to use your proven agile delivery skills across a diverse range of initiatives, utilize your development skills, and contribute to the continuous improvement/delivery of critical IT solutions.
**Essential Job Responsibilities:**
Database Management:
+ Install, configure, and upgrade database software on AWS and Azure.
+ Monitor performance, optimize queries, and conduct regular tuning.
Backup and Recovery:
+ Implement and test robust backup and recovery strategies.
Security Measures:
+ Establish and maintain database security, including access controls and encryption.
+ Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance.
Cloud Integration:
+ Migrate and replicate data across AWS and Azure platforms.
High Availability and Scalability:
+ Ensure database availability and scalability with failover mechanisms and load balancing.
Collaboration:
+ Work with development teams, system administrators, and network engineers.
+ Participate in cross-functional teams for database design and optimization.
Technical Support:
+ Provide Level 3 and 4 technical support, troubleshooting complex issues.
**Qualifications:**
**Required**
+ Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
+ Certifications (if applicable):AWS Certified Database - Specialty or Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate.
+ 1-3+ years proven experience as a Database Administrator.
+ Background in pharmaceutical or healthcare domains is advantageous.
+ Database Technologies: Proficiency in relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra) databases.
+ AWS: Experience with AWS environments, RDS, and CI/CD methodologies.
+ Microsoft Azure: Knowledge of Azure services, cloud-native databases, and integration services.
+ SQL Expertise: Strong skills in SQL for data manipulation and query optimization.
+ Python and Pyspark: Proficiency in Python and familiarity with Pyspark for big data testing.
+ Data Validation: Ability to validate data transformations and understand data lineage.
+ Leadership Skills: Prior experience leading testing teams or projects.
+ Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
+ Experience in Agile development environments (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives). Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud) and their data services.
+ Analytical thinking to identify performance gaps and promote continuous improvement.
+ Adherence to DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines.
+ Business Requirements: Ability to understand and interpret business requirements. Translate them into technical requirements.
+ Data Strategy Contribution:
+ Identify data-driven insights and improvements.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
+ Technical Support: Troubleshoot complex issues for internal users. Ensure system uptime.
+ Optimize existing data and platform architecture.
+ Manage FoundationX backlog.
+ Stay informed about data engineering and cloud trends.
**Preferred**
+ Subject Matter Expertise: possess a strong understanding of data architecture/ engineering/operations/ reporting within Life Sciences/ Pharma industry across Commercial, Manufacturing and Medical domains.
+ Other complex and highly regulated industry experience will be considered across diverse areas like Commercial, Manufacturing and Medical.
+ Data Analysis and Automation Skills: Proficient in identifying, standardizing, and automating critical reporting metrics and modelling tools
+ Analytical Thinking: Demonstrated ability to lead ad hoc analyses, identify performance gaps, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
+ Technical Proficiency: Strong coding skills in SQL, R, and/or Python, coupled with expertise in machine learning techniques, statistical analysis, and data visualization.
+ Agile Champion: Adherence to DevOps principles and a proven track record with CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery.
