We are looking for an Investment Banking Associate to join as a Subject Matter Expert (SME). You will provide domain knowledge to help design AI-powered solutions that support capital markets workflows including M&A, valuations, deal analysis, and due diligence.
Role Overview
As an Investment Banking Associate (SME) at Scry AI, you will serve as the bridge between product and capital markets expertise. Your experience in deal execution, financial modeling, and investor communication will inform how we build and refine automation solutions that assist banking analysts and associates in their high-pressure, data-intensive roles.
Key Responsibilities
1. Domain Expertise & Workflow Design
- Map out investment banking processes including M&A, fundraising, IPO readiness, and pitchbook creation.
- Define templates, metrics, and document types (teasers, CIMs, term sheets) used in banking workflows.
- Contribute input on financial models, DCFs, comps, and transaction multiples to guide automation logic.
2. Product Collaboration
- Work with product and engineering teams to develop AI models that extract and analyze deal data from reports, filings, and presentations.
- Review output quality of document intelligence tools used for parsing investor decks, target profiles, and financial disclosures.
- Identify edge cases and validation logic for modeling accuracy and contextual understanding.
3. Client & Use Case Support
- Participate in client discovery to understand specific investment banking pain points.
- Assist in building demo use cases and prototypes that reflect real IB scenarios.
- Translate feedback from banking professionals into product and feature requirements.
4. Knowledge Contributions
- Maintain documentation on capital markets workflows, valuation methodologies, and reporting standards.
- Contribute to training content and internal knowledge base for product, sales, and marketing teams.
- Stay updated on investment banking trends and regulatory developments impacting capital markets.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 3–5 years of experience in investment banking, equity research, corporate finance, or transaction advisory.
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and presentation skills.
- Familiarity with common IB deliverables (pitchbooks, CIMs, term sheets, fairness opinions).
- Exposure to sectors such as BFSI, Tech, or Industrials preferred.
