• Calculating natural frequencies, strength, and stiffness of aluminum die-cast wheels to optimize structural integrity.
• Networking with other departments to continuously improve the simulation and CAD tool environment.
• Further developing a software tool for parameter optimization of aluminum die-cast wheels in a high-level programming language (Synera-Toolchain).
• Documenting and presenting results to ensure transparency and traceability of work.
• Collaborating and communicating with a global supplier network to find the best solutions for our products.

What should you bring along

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

• Degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or a comparable field.
• Solid knowledge of CATIA V5 for efficient design creation.
• Experience in review simulations and FE calculations to analyze product performance.
• Professional experience in wheel development or design to drive innovative solutions.
• Professional experience in aluminum low pressure die casting to understand and optimize manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge in software development and optimization to enhance our tools.

The Senior Engineer Die Casting will be responsible for operating and monitoring melting furnaces, high tonnage die casting machines, de-gating processes, and associated automation systems. This role demands strong technical expertise in robotic operations, tool lubrication systems, and defect control, along with the ability to support production targets and quality standards.

Your responsibilities will be to:

1. Production Management:

• Operate and monitor melting furnaces for correct temperature, alloy composition, and pouring quality.
• Run and optimize high tonnage die casting machines for consistent cycle times and quality output.
• Manage de-gating operations for efficiency and minimal product damage.

2. Process & Equipment Expertise:

• Operate and troubleshoot robotic systems for part handling, spraying, and de-gating.
• Ensure tool lubrication systems are functioning effectively to improve die life and casting quality.
• Support die changeover and set up activities to reduce downtime.

3. Quality & Defect Control:

• Conduct in-process inspections to ensure adherence to product specifications.
• Identify and resolve casting defects such as porosity, cold shuts, and flash.
• Work with the quality team to implement corrective actions and process improvements.

4. Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

• Assist maintenance teams in preventive and breakdown maintenance for machines, furnaces, and robots.
• Maintain basic equipment logs and update production data in system records.

5. Continuous Improvement

• Participate in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and 5S initiatives.
• Suggest improvements in automation, tooling, and process parameters for productivity gains.

Our requirements:

• Graduate in B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Metallurgy Engineering.
• 5-10 years of experience in die casting production, with at least 3-4 years in a supervisory role.
• Hands-on experience with melting furnaces, high tonnage die casting machines, de-gating, robotics, and tool lubrication systems.
• Knowledge of casting defect analysis and process troubleshooting.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong technical understanding of die casting processes.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and operate precision measuring instruments.
• Basic knowledge of robot programming and PLC operation (preferred).
• Good problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Audit & Safety Knowledge:
• Working knowledge of IATF 16949 standards and audit procedures.
• Multi level safety experience including compliance and emergency preparedness.

1. New Product (casting) Development

• Carry flexibility study (tolerance, complexities, infrastructure, new grade etc.,) upon receiving the RFQ from the marketing department.
• Preparation of detailed technology of pattern layout and sharing with patter shop.
• Follow up with a pattern shop for the purchase order.
• Creation of SAP codes for the new castings.
• Preparation of PPAP documents and submit to customers and also preparation of process sheet for internal process.
• Prepare and issue route cards to the planning department.
• Witness all core making, mould making and core assembly mould and pouring.
• Follow up with First stage, HT, felting, NDT test and dimensional layout and ensure the castings are as per customer requirements.
• Identify and suggest defective castings for re-work with support from the MAGMA team and Technical Head.
• Customer offering of sample coatings to customers.
• To analyse and identify quality issues / clarifications in the PNCR from customers.
