This position involves leading our Molecular Biology team in the design, development, and optimization of molecular biology techniques, platforms, and strategies for the production of biosimilar biologics, including monoclonal antibodies, fusion proteins, bispecifics, and other advanced modalities. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience in molecular biology, gene expression, and cell line development. What You'll Do:

  • Lead with Vision: Guide and mentor our molecular biology team with a size of 20-30 scientists, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment delivering goals of the company.
  • Innovate: Design and oversee cutting-edge experiments to explore different molecular mechanisms and pathways that allow us to improve the science of cell line development pushing boundaries and creating cell lines that are amongst the best in the world. optimize gene expression systems and cell line development platforms for the production of high-expression cell lines with desired post-translational protein modifications.
  • Advance Science: Use techniques like DNA/RNA sequencing, cloning, and protein expression to develop and validate a library of genetic vectors. Design molecular biology assays and methods to assess gene expression, protein production, and product quality.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with other functional groups, including but not limited to process development, analytical development, Manufacturing, Quality, and Regulatory, to provide expertise related to molecular biology and cell lines. Establish collaboration with external partners (wherever needed) to enhance capabilities, bring new technologies, and supplement business requirements.
  • Ensure Excellence: Maintain a safe and efficient lab, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Stay Ahead: Keep up with the latest advancements in molecular biology and bring new technologies into our research programs. Stay current with the latest advancement in Molecular Biology techniques and protein expression technologies.
  • Manage Resources: Oversee budgets, resources, and timelines for molecular biology projects and demonstrate leadership in cost and productivity.


What We're Looking For:

  • Educational Background: Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related fields and relevant post-doctoral experience will be desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum 15 years in molecular biology and cell line development research post-Ph.D. At least 5 years in a leadership role in cell line development roles. Experience in both academia and industry is acceptable.
  • Knowledge: Expert in molecular biology principles, host cell engineering, and advanced techniques, gene expression systems, and cell line development. Experienced in the design and implementation of molecular biology assays and analytical methods to assess gene expression, protein production, and product quality. Experienced in handling and using bioinformatic and statistical analysis tools.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills. Proven leadership skills and ability to manage and develop high-performing teams.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
