Purpose & Scope of Position

The Project Engineer (PE) will be part of an engineering stream providing engineering services to large and small projects. The PE provides support to the Project Manager (PM) and Engineering Manager (EM) and is responsible for supervising a team of working engineer and designers. The PE provides leadership and assists in the resolution of all technical issues related to the discipline.

Experience

• 10+ years of experience in relevant design discipline
• Experience in engineering and package coordination

Qualification

• Postgraduate or graduate in an engineering discipline
• Registration as a professional engineer with the governing authority (preferable)

Key Responsibilities

1. Assist the PM and EM with the delivery of project requirements as they relate to scope, quantities, cost and schedule 2. Prepare Engineering Work Packages (EWPs) in consultation with the Engineering Manager 3. Assist in the compilation and delivery of monthly engineering status reports 4. Participate in and contribute to design reviews 5. Represent the discipline in the project engineering coordination meetings 6. Prepare and/or review project procedures, standard specifications and design criteria 7. Review and evaluate technical work prepared by junior engineers, intermediate engineers, designers, technicians and technologists 8. Ensure relevant technical experts are involved in the design process as required and facilitate the sharing of technical expertise across projects 9. Perform conceptual and detailed engineering design 10. Prepare engineering work (calculations, reports, specifications, evaluations, recommendations etc.) where required 11. Provide and/or coordinate training for resources assigned to the project 12. Work to ensure the implementation of safety in design 13. Ensures measurement of progress on all contracts for reporting and progress claim purposes. 14. Responsible to ensure timely availability of discipline data to other disciplines, and work with fellow PEs and EM on integration of the same and resolution of any issues and challenges 15. Document value additions and best practices and ensure communication of the same to fellow project engineers of other projects and discipline leadership 16. Support technology team/ Project team for development and automation works as required. 17. Ensure compliance to all quality and document management processes within TCE and as agreed with customer. 18. Manage performance data of reportees and provide periodic feedback. 19. Provides resource loading forecast to TL. 20. Keeps records of learning's during the project and provides inputs to PM during job closure report. 21. Prepare technical specifications/ bid evaluation/ technical recommendation where required 22. Interact with the discipline engineers of customer during entire life cycle of the project and beyond.

Job Title: Engineering Manager

Location: Delhi - NCR

Job Summary
: The Engineering Manager will lead and manage the technical services and design team, focusing on providing expert static and seismic support solutions for high-profile projects, particularly data centres and airports. This role requires a dynamic leader with deep structural engineering expertise, a strong understanding of modern building services, and experience in guiding and developing technical teams. The ideal candidate will be a technical authority, a proactive mentor, and a key driver of innovation within the company.

What will you bring?

Design and Technical Expertise:

• Oversee the design and calculation of static and seismic support solutions for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) and other suspended building services in complex structures.

• Ensure all designs for data centres, airports, and similar projects comply with relevant national and international building codes and seismic regulations.

• Serve as the technical lead, reviewing and approving calculations, drawings, and design specifications submitted by the engineering team.

• Collaborate with sales, product, and onsite teams to provide bespoke technical services and value-engineered solutions to clients.

• Perform risk assessments and provide expert guidance on complex engineering challenges during the project lifecycle.

Team Leadership and Development:

• Manage, mentor, and guide a team of engineers, with a specific focus on developing expertise in BIM and structural design.

• Implement a robust training program for the technical team to ensure proficiency in Gripple's products, design principles, and software tools, including BIM.

• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members to foster professional growth.

Must have skills and Qualifications:

Role & responsibilities :

Lead and supervise review and approval of civil/structural design documents for:

• Coal Handling System (CHP): Transfer towers, conveyor galleries, crusher house, cable gallery, control room.
• Ash Handling System (AHP): Pipe racks, pump houses, ash silos, silo control room, collector towers, ash dyke.
• Water Systems: WTP, CW/ACW pump house, chemical and hydrogen buildings.
• Switchyard/Transformer Yard: Including structures up to 400 kV level.
• Main Plant Area: Boiler structures, transfer towers, pipe racks.
• Infrastructure: Roads, RCC drains, and rigid pavements.

Design & Engineering Responsibilities:

• Reviewed and optimized design documents and drawings for transformer yards, BOP areas, township, and auxiliary buildings.
• Designed fly ash-based rigid pavements, RCC drains, subways, and ash dyke lining structures.
• BOQ preparation, cost estimation, tender documentation, vendor drawing review, and material reconciliation.

Engineering & Coordination:

• Design and review of civil and structural drawings as per geotechnical reports
• BOQ preparation, cost estimation, and technical specifications
• Coordination with vendors for drawing approvals and material submittals
• Support to site engineering, procurement, and project management teams
• Conducted site meetings, resolved design issues, issued amendments
• Led preparation of tender documents and reconciliation of materials.

Coordination & Execution:

• Led inter-departmental coordination across design, procurement, and execution teams.
• Conducted contractor meetings, issued engineering amendments, resolved site issues, and ensured alignment with project schedules.

Managed site engineering supervision, construction quality assurance, and vendor compliance.

Preferred candidate profile :

• In-depth knowledge of structural design principles for RCC and steel structures.
• Proficiency in analysis and design of power plant structures including boiler foundations, TG buildings, pipe racks, and transfer towers.
• Strong understanding of design requirements for:
• CHP, AHP, WTP, Switchyard, Control Rooms, Ash Dyke, etc.

Familiarity with thermal plant design philosophy and BOP layout optimization.
