Job Description Cloud Networking Engineer Looking for team members to lead the engineers in various projects to design the correct OCI network topologies, which include VCNs, subnets, route tables aligning with our business requirements and security best practices. Team needs to collaborate with other teams and resources at Digital and OCI to design the OCI infrastructure as needed to support the various platforms being moved to the OCI cloud with the goal of deploying this as Infrastructure as Code. The team will have the responsibility of configuring and managing access control lists and security groups to enforce the designed network security policies. They will at times need to design and implement VPN connections from cloud to on-prem as well as possibly cloud-to-cloud.
Key Responsibilities Architect and deploy cloud network topologies (VCNs, subnets, route tables) across OCI, AWS, and GCP that align with business needs and security best practices. Design and implement highly available and secure cloud networking solutions that support multi-cloud and hybrid cloud strategies. Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for cloud networking using Terraform and Ansible to automate provisioning, configuration, and management. Implement and manage access control lists (ACLs) and security groups to enforce network security policies. Design and configure VPN connectivity solutions , including cloud-to-cloud and cloud-to-on-prem secure connections. Optimize traffic flow and load balancing strategies using cloud-native load balancers and third-party solutions such as HAProxy. Work with BGP routing protocols and OCIs specific routing implementations and limitations to design efficient and scalable network architectures. Develop monitoring, logging, and observability strategies for cloud network infrastructure using cloud-native and third-party tools. Ensure compliance with security and governance standards while designing and implementing cloud networking solutions. Document networking architectures, processes, and configurations using tools like Visio or similar diagramming tools. Collaborate with cloud architects, security engineers, and DevOps teams to optimize network performance, security, and reliability.
Requirements 7+ years of hands-on experience in cloud networking across OCI, AWS, or GCP with a strong focus on design, deployment, and migration of cloud infrastructure. Proven experience designing and implementing cloud network topologies (VCNs, subnets, route tables, firewalls, VPNs). Deep expertise in cloud networking tools and monitoring solutions to support highly scalable and resilient architectures. Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform and Ansible for automating cloud network deployments. Understanding of IAM and its role in cloud security , including network segmentation and access management. Familiarity with OCI-specific networking tools and concepts such as Tenancies, Compartments, Regions, and Availability Domains. Experience with BGP routing and OCIs routing implementation is required. Strong understanding of network load balancing and traffic distribution strategies , leveraging both cloud-native and third-party solutions (e.g., HAProxy). Experience with VPN connectivity , including cloud-to-cloud and cloud-to-on-prem networking. Strong documentation skills using Visio or similar tools for network topology diagrams and architecture documentation. Experience with Puppet is a plus but not mandatory. This role is not just about maintaining or troubleshooting networks we are looking for an engineer who can design, deploy, and optimize networking solutions from scratch while implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Load Balancing offers options to distribute workload processes across multiple resources in multi-tier and highly distributed application architectures to ensure availability.
As a developer, you will contribute to the development and automation of these services in a global agile team. You should be comfortable at building complex distributed systems that interact with end users at one end and network infrastructure at the other. Experience on Service Data Plane is preferred.
