The Department of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine at Canberra Hospital is seeking a skilled and motivated Respiratory Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) to join our dynamic outpatient team.
In this exciting role, you’ll lead the coordination of time-critical referrals and investigations for patients in the National Lung Cancer Screening Program, including managing complex findings like Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) and Interstitial Lung Abnormalities (ILA).

We have an exciting permanent part-time, 19 hours per week, opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) who will deliver high-quality clinical services directly to customers, both digitally and face-to-face. The CNS will:

- Deliver clinical nursing services in accordance with external legislation, practice standards, and the organisation’s policies and procedures

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Current Australian Health Professional Registration Authority registration for a Registered Nurse (RN) Division 1.
- Minimum five years nursing experience with three years in the disability or community services sector.
- Proven ability to collaborate with various roles, including non-registered health professionals, to enhance their understanding and skills, ultimately improving customer outcomes.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands effectively.
- Experience working in an environment that prioritises consumer needs and expectations, while upholding and respecting human rights.
- A strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. Ability to collaborate effectively with various functions across the organisation.
- Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and client information management systems.
- Valid ‘C’ class driver’s licence with own personal motor vehicle to be used for work purposes.
- The ability to drive to all NSW Afford locations and travel interstate on occasion when required
