A day in the life

Basic Qualifications

**Role Summary**
The IT Command Center Analyst serves as the nerve center of enterprise operations, responsible for real-time monitoring, incident triage, and coordination across technical and business teams. Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of data center engineering or operations experience
- Experience in vendor management
- 5+ years of data center or mission critical facilities (example: hospital, military facility, public safety facility, etc.) experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Electrical or mechanical Journeyman License
- Experience in construction or project management
- Knowledge of electrical systems in critical Data Center operations that include but are not limited to utility substation feeds, transformers, switchgear, VFI Class UPS, DRUPS, PDUs, ATS, STS, SLA/VRLA batteries and associated systems, diesel/gas turbine generators and related fuel systems, Surge Suppression, Active Harmonic Filtering, battery monitoring systems, branch circuit monitoring systems or SCADA systems
- Knowledge of mechanical systems in critical Data Center operations including but not limited to CRAC/CRAHs/AHUs, chillers, cooling towers, storage tanks, chemical systems, heat exchangers, piping systems, pumps, valves, duct systems, fans, or dampers

Key job responsibilities
About You:
You will be a proven manager with experience managing teams of high performers. You will have the ability to refine and develop processes to optimize operational excellence in every area of your role. You will be able to drive performance levels to achieve the pace at which we build and operate Data Centers in India for Amazon Data Services India Private Limited ("ADSIPL"). You will have previous experience in Data Centers, either building or managing (or both) along with exposure to developing great relationships with both internal teams and external vendors.

About The Role:
As a Data Center Manager in ADSIPL, you will get to manage the world's largest Cloud Computing Infrastructure in India. We encounter interesting, challenging & complex problems every day, being a technical manager in ADSIPL means that you can innovate to solve these issues and help drive Operations Excellence in all areas of your role.
Your day job at ADSIPL will include (but not limited to):
- Managing and developing teams of engineers, providing both technical and leadership expertise and ensuring highest levels of performance.
- Maintaining existing co-located and in-house Data Centers
- Helping build and bring online new Data Centers
- Constantly improving all our processes and procedures. We believe there is nothing we cannot improve
- Assisting & managing relationships with external vendors & contractors
- Liaising with internal teams & management groups
- Ensuring we adhere to and exceed local Health & Safety standards in all our Data Centers
- Creating and maintaining metrics on all aspects of our Data Centers and utilizing those metrics to drive positive changes
- Assisting in implementing service methodologies including incident management, problem management, change management, capacity management, etc.
What are we looking for in a successful AWS Returner Data Centre Manager (DCM) candidate along with the technical knowledge and experience.
People Management.
As a successful candidate you will have managed a team of at least 5 individuals, over a period of at least 3 years. You will be able to demonstrate how you have continued to improve performance of an existing team along with displaying skills in creating or growing a team. Experience managing both high & low performing employees will be of advantage along with conflict management.
Incident Management.
You will have a lot of experience dealing with high severity situations, show a clear understanding of the wider blast implications of any issue/outage and potential consequences of differing outcome scenarios. You will also have experience in Change Management & Fault Management.
Vendor Management.
An Amazon, individual has to deal with vendors, contractors & security companies. You will be able to prove you have experience dealing with external vendors and be able to display incidents of both problem & conflict management when dealing with same.
Process Improvement.
You will be able to demonstrate an ability of taking both a good working process & a bad process and improving. You will have experience in processes mapping, implementing remediation steps and how this affected the overall business you were working in. Experience in Kaizen/Lean/Six Sigma is preferable
Health & Safety.
Health & Safety should be at the forefront of every manager's mind. Managers should be able to positively influence the Safety culture of the Data Center organization.

- 5+ years of managing technical teams with significant personnel management experience and examples of developing engineers and building successful teams experience
- 7+ years of managing large complex facilities organizations experience
- Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities

- Bachelor's degree or above in engineering or equivalent STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) field, or 6+ months of network and operating system support experience

Amazon's IN MM ACES team is looking for a driven and detail-oriented Program Manager. The ideal candidate is a hands-on operational expert who can also think strategically - someone who can author SOPs, drive improvement programs, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver measurable quality outcomes.
As an ACES (Amazon Customer Excellence Systems) Manager, you will drive process standardization for the sort center network. You will centrally drive programs that contribute to the optimization of the Operations, providing operators with sufficient knowledge and appropriate tools to improve performance. The person should have a good understanding of a business requirement and the ability to quickly get to the root cause of a particular reporting/BI/data issue, and draft solutions for resolution.
