We are looking for an energetic and driven process-oriented Payroll Specialist who will be responsible for payroll processing and employee benefits in Pro-vigil India.
The payroll specialist will define a fair, equitable and competitive total compensation and benefits package. Will ensure verification of payroll inputs, timely recording of benefits, resulting accurate payroll output & timely disbursal.
The person would review the payroll inputs and calculations and assist the corporate finance team in accounting for the payroll for the organization.
This role will require the Payroll and Benefits Specialist to interact with Finance, HR
Departments and all Payroll Stakeholders regularly, to ensure meeting timelines with reference to payroll processing, statutory compliances and remittances etc.
Will be responsible for overall day-to- day activities from payroll point of view, besides leading the Payroll Process with the team, in terms of Attendance and Time Keeping.
The incumbent must demonstrate a high degree of attention to detail, as well as strong
financial and taxation acumen, including knowledge of local tax laws and statutory compliance.

Responsibilities include:
- Gather attendance input from all the sources and ensure that the pay components are accurate.

Required Skills
- Strong payroll understanding with Min 10 + years of work experience in payroll processing exclusively in the BPO Sector.

- Experience in working with external payroll vendors.

Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated Compensation and benefits person who is well versed on payroll & statutory Compliance, manage payroll operations with a strong focus on minimum wage compliance, legal and statutory norms (ESI, PF), and salary structuring across multiple business units and states. The ideal candidate will ensure all payroll calculations are accurate, timely, and fully compliant with evolving statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Minimum Wages Compliance
- Conduct monthly minimum wage validations for all employees, ensuring compliance with the latest state government notifications and revising CTCs as required.
- Prepare and share minimum wage working sheets for approval and update revised CTCs on the portal for impacted employees
- Communicate changes and impacts to business teams and update relevant HR systems accordingly
2. Payroll Management
- Oversee end-to-end payroll activities, including salary register validations, arrears calculations (manual/system-based), and payroll authorizations
- Validate and update compensation for new joiners, conversions (PT/FT & FT/PT), and transfers before payroll processing
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll closure, including first and second cut validations and rectification of negative arrears
3. Statutory Compliance (ESI, PF, Bonus)
- Ensure monthly statutory bonus validations and compliance with the Bonus Act, including calculations based on minimum wage, basic salary, and statutory caps
- Adjust statutory bonus payouts as required, ensuring no impact on net take-home or CTC, and update payroll structures accordingly
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all PF and ESI regulations across business units, including timely remittance and accurate employee coverage
4. Salary Structure Management
- Maintain and update salary structures for different business verticals, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and internal policies
- Handle salary refitment and restructuring requests for manpower and SLA-based employees, including approvals and system updates
- Generate and upload statutory and salary-related letters (increment, transfer, promotion, revision) as required
5. Compensation and Benefits:
- Calculate Annual Budget for increments and performance process
- Perform merit increment cycle
- Perform Variable pay bonus and calculations
- Letter generation process
6. Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare and share monthly billing inputs, CTC reports, and compliance documentation with finance and business teams
- Respond to ad hoc requests for payroll and compliance data, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of Indian statutory laws related to minimum wages, ESI, PF, and statutory bonus across multiple states
- Proven experience in payroll management and statutory compliance in a multi business or multi-location environment
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for payroll validation and compliance checks
- Proficiency with HRMS/payroll systems and Excel for data management and reporting
