Key Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy construction equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, and cranes safely and effectively.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal working condition, reporting any defects or malfunctions immediately.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and site plans to ensure accurate execution of tasks.
- Coordinate with site supervisors, engineers, and other team members to understand project requirements and daily tasks.
- Transport materials and equipment to and from work sites as required.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, protocols, and best practices on construction sites, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Operate equipment in various weather conditions and terrains.
- Assist with site preparation, excavation, grading, and material handling tasks.
- Troubleshoot operational issues with equipment and implement corrective actions.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator with a valid certification.
- Proficiency in operating multiple types of heavy machinery.
- Thorough knowledge of construction site safety procedures and regulations.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals and instructions.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and basic maintenance skills.
- Physical fitness and the ability to work long hours, often in demanding conditions.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions precisely.
- Valid driver's license (additional endorsements may be required).
- Commitment to producing high-quality work and meeting project deadlines.
