What will you do:

• Design and implement modern platform architectures with a strong understanding of Red Hat OpenShift, container orchestration, and automation at scale.
• Strong experience in managing Day-2 operations of Kubernetes container platforms by collaborating with infrastructure teams in defining practices for platform deployment, platform hardening, platform observability, monitoring and alerting, capacity management, scalability, resiliency, security operations.
• Lead the discovery, architecture, and delivery of modern platforms and cloud-native applications, using technologies such as containers, APIs, microservices, and DevSecOps patterns.
• Collaborate with customer teams to co-create AI-ready platforms, enabling future use cases with foundational knowledge of AI/ML workloads.
• Remain hands-on with development and implementation especially in prototyping, MVP creation, and agile iterative delivery.
• Present strategic roadmaps and architectural visions to customer stakeholders, from engineers to executives.
• Support technical presales efforts, workshops, and proofs of concept, bringing in business context and value-first thinking.
• Create reusable reference architectures, best practices, and delivery models, and mentor others in applying them.
• Contribute to the development of standard consulting offerings, frameworks, and capability playbooks.

What will you bring:

• Strong experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and Red Hat OpenShift or equivalent platforms
• In-depth expertise in managing multiple Kubernetes clusters across multi-cloud environments.
• Proven expertise in operationalisation of Kubernetes container platform through the adoption of Service Mesh, GitOps principles, and Serverless frameworks
• Migrating from XKS to OpenShift
• Proven leadership of modern software and platform transformation projects
• Hands-on coding experience in multiple languages (e.g., Java, Python, Go)
• Experience with infrastructure as code, automation tools, and CI/CD pipelines
• Practical understanding of microservices, API design, and DevOps practices
• Applied experience with agile, scrum, and cross-functional team collaboration
• Ability to advise customers on platform and application modernisation, with awareness of how platforms support emerging AI use cases.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills with both technical and business audiences
• Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Red Hat OpenShift AI, Open Data Hub, or similar MLOps platforms
• Foundational understanding of AI/ML, including containerized AI workloads, model deployment, open source AI frameworks

You will be engaging with customers and the wider Rackspace organization to advise, develop and deliver innovative solutions leveraging a wide range of public cloud services. The primary focus will be on helping customers to re-think their technical platforms and application landscapes and drive adoption of cloud-native technologies and innovation. Primary Objectives

• Work with customers and the wider Rackspace organizations on re-thinking and re-designing IT landscapes using cloud-native technologies
• Design and deliver innovative Proof of Concepts for customers
• Provide guidance to customers on their cloud journeys and establish a long-term trusted advisor role
• Deliver high-quality work to customers as part of consulting engagements that can be delivered through workshops, presentations or architecture designs
• Drive the engagements with customers from the architectural pillar, from design to delivery
• Work in close collaboration with other architects, technical consultants and professional services teams within Rackspace and customers teams
• Mentor and train junior architects within the wider Rackspace Architecture community on modern cloud-native software patterns

Person Specification

• The ideal candidate has a proven track record in designing and delivering innovative technology solutions built on the cloud.
• As a senior architect, the person should be comfortable engaging at all levels of the customers business, from working with senior/C-level leadership to guiding IT specialists and developers on building solutions.
• Extensive experience of creating Public Cloud platforms (Azure preferred, due to current demand).
• Demonstrable experience in designing and implementing cloud-native systems and/or rebuilding an existing system on the cloud is required.
• Must have the ability to lead architectural engagements, either directly or as part of a larger programme of work and take ownership for the successful delivery of customer value within budget, time and scope.
• Acting as a thought-leader, the right candidate is able to concisely and articulately present to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• You have specialist and demonstrable knowledge in Cloud Platform Architecture or Cloud-native Application Architecture
• You have an articulate opinion on the advantages of using public cloud platforms from a business perspective
• You can identify and plan to resolve the challenges, both technical and organizational, facing Enterprise and SMB organizations who are moving their applications to the cloud

Role Description

Design Review & Management

• Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings for accuracy, feasibility, and compliance with project specifications and standards.
• Maintain a centralized log of drawing revisions, RFIs, and approvals, ensuring version control across all disciplines.
• Analyze and highlight design discrepancies early to avoid rework during execution.

Coordination & Stakeholder Communication

• Organize and facilitate design review meetings with architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors.
• Act as the primary interface between project design teams and on-site construction staff for clarifications and technical decisions.
• Coordinate with heritage experts, sthapathis, and cultural consultants to maintain design authenticity and Vastu alignment.

Compliance & Quality Control
