- Purpose & Scope of Position
- A Contracts Engineer is responsible for managing and overseeing the contractual aspects of projects, ensuring that agreements are executed effectively and in compliance with legal and organizational standards. This role involves negotiating, drafting, and administering contracts, as well as resolving any issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
- Experience
- 5 to 7 years’ experience in Contract Administration, Quantity Surveying or Contracts Management
- Qualification
- Graduate or Post Graduate degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, Law, or a related field. - Strong understanding of contract law and legal principles.
- Key Responsibilities
- 1. Assist Project Team members with queries regarding Contracts procedures, processes and guidelines. 2. Ensure that all contracts reflect the agreed-upon scope, deliverables, timelines, and pricing. 3. Collaborate with legal, procurement, and project teams to finalize contract terms. 4. Manage and maintain contract documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness. 5. Coordinate contract modifications, extensions, and renewals as needed. 6. Communicate contract requirements and obligations to project stakeholders. 7. Facilitate regular meetings to discuss contract performance and address any concerns. 8. Implement best practices and lessons learned from previous projects. 9. Contribute to the development of contract templates and standards. 10. Review, assess and prepare reports/respond to Contactors claims. 11. Assess Contractor performance against Contractual KPIs. 12. Ensure participation in project progress review meetings to understand progress, change management and potential risk items 13. Coordinates approval of negotiations, contracts, and subcontracts. 14. Participates in vendor or subcontractor agreement negotiations when required. 15. Maintains current knowledge of relevant contractual procedures and practices

+ Bachelor's degree is required, in Law is preferred or Master's will be a plus.
+ **5-10 years of overall experience and at least five (5) years' experience reviewing, redlining and negotiating Customer (third party) contracts or a broad range of standard commercial contracts is desirable.**
+ A self-starter that can utilize their contract and risk knowledge as well as sound judgment to make decisions on complex or varied problems with minimal supervision.
+ Superior writing, analytical and communication skills, including experience engaging with sales and senior management.
+ Ability to quickly analyse advanced and complex transactions and propose innovative, creative and workable solutions.

1. Providing contractual support to Utility Companies, Plant Owners, Project Developer Companies, Banks & Governments pre/post financial close for new build plants as well as existing operational plant.
2. Draft and Review EPC/O&M/LTSA/PPA agreements with an eye for detailing to highlight the contractual risks, bringing out ambiguities, providing clear interpretation of complex contractual terms etc.
3. Conducting delay analysis, LD analysis, guarantee/ warrantees, DLP, latent liability and providing expert level opinion to the clients with clear cut outcomes and remedial measures.
4. Prepare contractual letters, responses to contractual mails from clients with expert level advice based on the provisions of contract.
5. Ensure all contracts comply with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
6. Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., legal, finance, procurement, HR) to ensure contractual obligations align with business needs.
7. Maintain an organized repository of executed contracts and track renewal or expiration dates.
8. Leading team to successfully deliver projects such as Owner's Engineer, Feasibilities, Transaction Advisory etc.
9. _Client facing role with extensive interactions with global clients/lenders._
10. _Reviewing the financial model to check the efficacy of technical inputs and energy forecasting etc._
+ Be the SPOC for any contracts related matters, task or query.
