**What's the role**
The Process Control Engineer is a key contributor to site operations, deeply embedded in work processes and collaborating across disciplines. Most engineers are assigned to specific plant areas, while some support site-wide initiatives. This role ensures optimal performance, safety, and reliability of control systems through proactive engineering and strategic project development.
**What you'll be doing**
+ Execute engineering activities for assigned production assets, including base layer control strategies, HMI design, compressor control, and alarm management.
+ Conduct Proactive Technical Monitoring to identify performance improvements and reliability risks; implement cost-effective solutions with area teams.
+ Collaborate with SIS specialists to design or modify Safety Instrumented Functions in alignment with process safety requirements.
+ Author and assure Management of Change (MOC) documentation within the Process Control discipline.
+ Lead or support failure analysis and causal investigations related to control system incidents; resolve MTO threats with root cause solutions.
+ Engage with global TAS networks to share best practices and explore new technologies (e.g., wireless systems, procedural automation).
+ Partner with Instrumentation and Maintenance teams to develop and execute turnaround worklists and process control scope
**What you bring**
+ Preferably a bachelor's degree holder in Chemical Engineering or Instrumentation.
+ Ideally with 4 years of experience in base layer control, preferably in refining, petrochemicals, or large-scale industrial operations.
+ Proficiency in Distributed Control Systems (DCS) is essential. Hands-on experience with Honeywell Experion or Foxboro I/A Series systems is highly desirable.
+ Strong understanding of IPF/SIF, SIS, and alarm management principles.
+ Good knowledge of field instrumentation, including selection, calibration, installation, and troubleshooting of various field devices
+ Experience with MOC processes, turnaround planning, and project development.
+ Knowledgeable in basic Oil Refining processes such as Distillation, Hydro processing, Cracking, Sulphur Recovery, Raw and Wastewater processing.
+ Knowledgeable in operation of Oil Refining equipment such as Heat Exchangers, Distillation columns, Reactors, Gas Absorbers, Strippers, Pumps, Compressors, etc.

About the role  

To provide technical support, investigation, minor works implementation, optimisation and reporting in the field of Process Control to operational and technology groups.

What the role will involve: 

  • Support Maintainers knowledge of process control systems throughout the business for the competency profiles of INLECS, DETs and electrical personnel state-wide

Role & Responsibilities

  • Should have knowledge of Controls System (DCS, PLC & SCADA) and Field Instruments (Transmitter, Sensors etc.).
  • Should understand and review P&ID drawing.
  • Should have knowledge of Control panel design including components list, loop drawing, cable schedule, terminal schedule etc.
  • Should develop the logic diagram and HMI for the industrial processes.


Qualifications

  • Engineering Graduate (Instrumentation & control/Electronics/ Electronics & Communication Engineering)


Experience

  • 2-3 years’ experience in engineering and commissioning of automation system.
  • Knowledge of PCS7 will have preference.
  • Candidates with advance trainings certificate of Siemen DCS/PLC/SCADA/Instrumentation or such certificates from other automation vendor (manufacturer) company will be preferable.
  • Combination of software and hardware design & understanding
  • Power plant knowledge will be preferable.

Key skills and Experience Required:

  • Should have experience in handling equipment’s like Conveyors, Lifters, AMR, Robots.
  • Should be qualified as Software Engineer and must have worked with reputed Auto OEM industries or with reputed automation integrator.
  • Should have hands on experience on siemens S7-1200/1500 series and drive programming.
  • Should be able to develop programs on siemens HMI.
  • Should have hands on experience on interfacing barcode scanner with PLC.
  • Should have hands on experience on servo (sinamics).
  • Should have hands on experience on integration of MES with PLC.
  • Should have hands on experience on traceability
  • Should have hands on experience on SQL database software like Microsoft SQL, MySQL, ManageEngine.
  • Should have the exposure on working on CCD systems and integrated CCD system on robots.

  • Responsible for taking and maintaining backup of complete pack and module equipment.
  • Responsible for trouble shooting and debugging of any software flaw.
