**Principal Responsibilities**
Role Purpose:
- To manage the community investment portfolio for HSBC in India focusing on projects/programmes in the areas of the strategic pillars
- Communication and Reporting (internal, external and regulatory)
- Support cluster manage certain regional (Asia Pacific) programmes that will cover other markets
- This is a role which guides sustainability implementation across the bank and group companies in India; and the Asia Pacific region
- Creates new projects/programmes, continues to build on the success of current projects and grows the profile for HSBC’s sustainability efforts across stakeholders
- Create measurement and reporting benchmarks; best practices in the priority areas, managing the overall sustainability budget, both for local and international projects
With sustainability at HSBC itself evolving into a strategic business supportive enterprise, the purpose of this role is to implement, in consultation with line management, **initiatives** (including the Climate Solutions Partnership - CSP) that support the organisation’s objective of becoming a net zero bank as well as lead to presence and impact in the community.
CSP is a US$ 100 million global initiative that aims to accelerate efforts to build a net zero economy, focusing on Energy Transition in emerging markets and Nature-Based Solutions.
**Key Responsibilities**
- **Management of Community Investments Budget and Portfolio for the Bank**:
- Manage existing multi-year commitments including but not limited to review of progress and financial utilisation, partner relationship management and troubleshooting, site visits to projects
- Build pipelines of new projects including but not limited to identifying credible partners, developing projects, sourcing, reviewing and presenting proposals for approvals
- Preparing papers and documentation for all required concurrence and approvals locally (INM CSR Committee, ExCo) and globally (pillar leads and ASP Head of CS and Global Head of CS)
- Administering payments for existing and new grants including but limited to due diligence, screenings, basic review, undertaking quality checks, Terms of Donations, Trade Mark Licensing Agreements (TMLAs)
- Ensure timely and accurate financial and programmatic reporting from partner organisations
- Manage non-profit partner relationships under the strategic pillars
- All mandatory reporting (Annual Report or CSR Disclosure as part of Board Report, CFO certification) and providing information on tax exemptions
- **End-to-end management of Group’s flagship climate initiative - Climate Solutions Partnership**:
- Energy transition: Work with global and local non-profit partners to support the shift towards renewables and scale energy efficiency initiatives
- Nature-based solutions: Identification and management of projects to protect and revitalise wetlands, mangroves and forests, and to promote sustainable agriculture, while increasing social and environmental resilience
- Review and tracking of programme progress and financial utlisation
- All CSP related reporting
- **Management of HSBC India’s flagship Future Skills Initiative - HSBC Skills for Life programme**:
- Design phase II of the programme aligning to Group’s priorities
- Provide oversight and guidance to all partners under HSBC Skills for Life (Swades, Foundation), screening partner, monitoring and evaluation partner and others
- **Strategic and operational management of Community Investment**s
- Regular tracking of amendments related to local regulatory requirements (such as the CSR Rules under the Companies Act 2013 and FCRA Act) ensuring compliance and timely reporting
- Review grant making processes to ensure alignment to Global Sustainability Manual and requirements under the CSR Act and create systems and processes for grant management
- Develop new strategies for projects aligned to the strategic pillars

About the Role
IIX is seeking a bold, strategic, and entrepreneurial leader to establish and head its ESG & Impact Advisory business unit focused on Corporates. This leadership role will build and lead IIX's corporate-facing advisory practice across South and Southeast Asia, engaging with major corporates, regional conglomerates, and financial institutions to embed ESG strategies, impact measurement, and sustainability-linked finance solutions—including Orange Bonds—into their core operations. The role will work closely with IIX's Research, Government Advisory, and Innovative Finance teams to help corporates develop Orange Bond issuance strategies, while ensuring ESG readiness, robust impact frameworks, and reporting using IIX's proprietary platforms—IIX Values™ (impact verification) and IIX Intelligence™ (data analytics). This is a client-facing, business-building leadership position requiring an established
network, deep expertise in ESG and sustainable finance, and strong capabilities in building new revenue streams from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategy Development & Market Leadership
•
Lead the strategy and execution roadmap for IIX's ESG & Impact Advisory business for Corporates.

Drive business development and revenue growth across key markets: Indonesia, India, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, and Bangladesh.

Leverage personal networks to initiate and secure corporate partnerships and long-term sustainability mandates.

2. Corporate SDG Strategy & Sustainable Finance
•

Prepare clients for emerging ESG and climate and sustainability reporting standards.
3. Supply Chain ESG & Orange Seal™ Program

Conduct deep-dive supply chain diagnostics (Tier 1–3) to assess gender parity, GHG emissions intensity, and climate resilience.

Develop supplier improvement roadmaps and expedite the qualification of suppliers through the Orange Seal™ certification process.

Align supply chain action plans with national SDG priorities and regulatory frameworks.
4. Orange Bond™ Impact Assessment
•
Lead corporate clients through the full impact lifecycle of Orange Bonds™, focusing on embedding robust impact frameworks, monitoring systems, and reporting mechanisms throughout the process.
Pre-Issuance Impact Readiness
•
Lead the impact-focused pre-issuance work by conducting in-depth ESG and gender-lens diagnostics for corporate issuers and their supply chains. This includes mapping bond proceeds to SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 13 (Climate Action), national SDG roadmaps, and Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). Develop tailored Impact Frameworks and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) matrices aligned with Orange Bond Principles, IFC Performance Standards, and relevant green/social bond guidelines.
•
Collaborate closely with IIX's Innovative Finance team, which leads transaction structuring and oversees external review processes such as Second-Party Opinions (SPOs) and credit ratings, to ensure alignment between financial structuring and impact commitments.
•
Deliverables include the Orange Impact Framework, baseline data packs generated via IIX Intelligence™, and investor-ready impact sections for offering materials.
Impact Assurance & Orange Seal™ Integration
•
Ensure Orange Seal™ certification criteria are embedded for qualifying suppliers and value-chain partners. Validate KPI frameworks to ensure alignment with market standards such as the ASEAN Taxonomy and EU Taxonomy. Work closely with internal teams to maintain coherence between transaction design and impact strategy.
Post-Issuance Monitoring
•
Deploy IIX Values™ to capture and monitor real-time impact data from issuers and their supply chains. Produce annual Impact Reports and investor dashboards, and proactively flag deviations in KPIs to recommend corrective actions and continuous improvement measures.
• Market & Policy Feedback
•
Utilize aggregated Orange Bond™ impact data to advise regulators, exchanges, and policymakers on sustainable finance frameworks and taxonomy evolution. Publish thematic insights and thought leadership pieces to inform policy development and spotlight corporate leadership in advancing gender equality and climate resilience.
5. Integration of IIX Assessment and Analytics Platforms

6. Team Leadership & Advisory Delivery

Required Qualifications
•
15+ years of leadership experience in ESG advisory, sustainability consulting, impact finance, or corporate sustainability strategy.
•
Entrepreneurial and self-driven to run an independent business unit with prior P/L experience.
•
Proven success in building and scaling advisory businesses or consulting practices, ideally with a strong corporate client base.
•
Deep experience working with corporates and/or financial institutions in South and Southeast Asia.
•
Expertise in ESG regulation, supply chain sustainability, climate finance, blended finance, or sustainability-linked bonds.
•
