Work you’ll do
As an Executive in our Tax team you’ll build and nurture positive working relationships with teams with the intention to exceed client expectations. You will be:
· Part of delivery support team on tax technology engagements
· Familiarizing oneself with tax technology tools, Deloitte systems, standard processes, tool user manuals, internal system workflows and access/respond to the tasks raised by teams
· Identify the missing information required to complete a certain task and communicate the same
· Ensuring the expectations/requirements of the Client service team are clearly understood and effectively communicated to the seniors.
· Understanding the project requirements and performing User Acceptance Testing (UAT), regular testing on software applications and coordinating with developers for query resolutions.
· Identifying and reporting bugs, errors, and defects in the system and reporting to seniors in targeted timelines and tracking them to resolution.
· Maintaining robust documentation including test plans, test cases, and testing documentation in accordance with project timelines and standards.
· Conduct Proof of Concept (POC) on technology tools and coordinate with clients for information requirement.
· Assisting in completing internal risk formalities for Client service team and preparing proposals, engagement letters for external vendors and clients and ensuring compliance with internal policies and legal requirements.
· Contributing to continuous process improvement efforts to enhance the overall quality of software applications.
· Maintaining the time cost tracker on a real-time basis, capturing the vitals of the ticket raised on systems
· Aligning the process oriented routine activities and follow the prescribed steps duly to promote greater efficiencies.
· Ensure high quality, error free deliverables in given targeted timelines.
· Need to have a good understanding of usage of technology tools, Excel and power point
Qualifications
- Graduates with 1-3 years of work experience in tax
- Sound Knowledge of Indian corporate tax
- Team Player
- Effective communication and presentation skills
- Persistent and persuasive

Requirements:
- Minimum 3+ years of post-qualification hands-on experience with U.S. accounting firm;
- Education: B. Com or M. Com. Or MBA Finance or CA Inter;

- Strong commitment to an entrepreneurial work ethic;

How You’ll Spend Your Time:
- Top/detail review of single & complex consolidation corporate returns including complex operating partnership returns.
- Detail review of corporate and partnership book to tax reconciliation & tax returns of both federal & state jurisdiction prepared by Staff/Senior.
- Resolve queries recognized by Staff/Senior on potential tax adjustments due to tax law changes.
- Identify international filing requirement by Org chart study and review international tax returns.
- Train existing/new joiners on concepts & technology and share timely feedback for each of the project reviewed.
- Supervise kick-off & regular connects with US counterparts by teams and intervene in budget conflicts, resource scheduling conflicts, etc.
- Guide team on efile validation of returns to free from rejects and errors.
- Manage and coach aligned professionals for their career path.
- Responsible for quality & turnaround of returns for aligned office/niche.
- Provide regular feedback and keep motivating team during Tax seasons.
- Maintain good correspondence with US point of contacts for seamless process flow and regularly touch-base with scheduler to keep team occupied and share returns status.
- Execute assignments in an effective manner including appropriate delegation and monitoring of work.
- Assist in hiring as and when need arise to place potential candidates.
Requirements :
- 7+ years of post-qualification hands-on experience with U.S. accounting firm.
- EA/CPA preferred.
- Experience and knowledge of U.S. Tax Code is preferred
- Strong command of the English Language, both written and verbal communication.
- Strong commitment to an entrepreneurial work ethic.
- At least 5 years of leading multiple engagements and supervising staff.

Preparing and Reviewing Sales & Use tax returns as prepared by the team and ensure proper calculations based on jurisdictional regulations.
- Performing a detailed technical review of state and local indirect tax returns on engagements.
- Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and streamline workflow.
- Preparing and reviewing monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Responsible for meeting all required deadlines.
- Supporting audit queries initiated by Statutory, Internal and Government bodies.
- Coordinate with the internal teams to manage for information requirements for various tax audits and review the information & other queries raised by tax authorities from time to time
- Manage other tax processes including Business License process, US property tax filings, annual report filings, etc.
- Perform tax services in compliance with laws and regulations.
- Manage innovative tax planning programs.
- Handling global tax assessments (Indirect Tax/ Sales and Use Tax )
Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate should be Post-Graduate/MBA with 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience in Sales & Use Tax Domain
- Strong Tax research skills for tax regulation
- Must be able to work with a high level of accuracy and demonstrate an analytical mind set
- Public accounting or prior experience working with a US multinational captive company is a plus.
- Knowledge of general ledger systems (preferably D-365 & Oracle)
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated individual with extreme attention to detail and organizational skills
