POSITION SUMMARY

Perform physical inventories for the food and beverage and retail areas as required. Perform routine analysis on product mix/margin and guest preference information to help the operations staff understand the impact of their merchandising efforts on revenue. Assist with inputting prices, menu changes and user changes in the point of sale (POS) system. Input receipt of all food, beverage and non-food products into the inventory and into the receipt part of the purchasing system. Investigate all measurement unit issues and noticeable price variances as required. Update all inventory requisitions through the inventory and purchasing system. Assist in the calculation of potential cost of sale ratios. Maintain master cost files and receipts. Perform random checks to verify all products are stored appropriately and secured.

To lead cost control activities across multiple or large-scale construction/industrial projects, ensuring effective budgeting, cost monitoring, billing verification, and contract compliance. The role involves active coordination with design, procurement, execution, and finance teams to ensure projects remain within approved budgets.

• Review and interpret Contract Agreements (CA), Drawings, and BOQs (Bill of Quantities) to identify inconsistencies or scope gaps.
  

• Lead project cost planning and budgeting exercises, ensuring accuracy in initial cost estimates.
  

• Monitor actual project costs vs budgeted costs and prepare variance reports.
  

• Review and certify contractor/vendor bills, ensuring work measurement is as per approved drawings and contractual terms.
  

• Evaluate and process variations, claims, and change orders in line with contract conditions.
  

• Coordinate with the design team for quantity reconciliation and technical validation of drawings.
  

• Participate in pre-tender activities including cost estimation, vendor evaluation, and rate analysis.
  

• Support contract management including reviewing clauses, tracking compliance, and recommending corrective actions where required.
  

• Prepare and present monthly cost reports and forecasts for internal and client reporting.
  

• Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives across project execution stages.
  

• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior cost engineers or executives.
  

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  

• 7–10 years of relevant experience in cost control, quantity surveying, or commercial management.
  

• Experience in managing cost control for industrial, infrastructure, or large-scale construction projects.
  

• Proficient in reading construction drawings, extracting quantities using AutoCAD or similar tools.
  

• Strong understanding of BOQ formats, contract terms, valuation principles, and cost management systems.
  

• Working knowledge of applicable standards and codes such as NBC, ANSI/ASHRAE (for HVAC), and LEED (for green building).
  

• Proficient in MS Excel, cost tracking tools, and ERP systems (if applicable).
  

• Good knowledge of contract law, billing cycles, taxation, and compliance.
  

• Strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
  

• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
