AWS drives the engineering on our capacity delivery projects. This unique vantage point allows the Design Managers to maintain a close connection with project details and drive project outcomes. You will have impact on the design direction and ability to improve design delivery for all APAC projects, while establishing design procedures and protocols for the development of future systems. This role is an opportunity to collaborate with many facets of the AWS organization, external engineering resources and regulatory agencies.
Key job responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Leading a team of engineers in the design of data center critical infrastructure systems
- Facilitating weekly meetings with internal engineer resources, internal customers and external consultants to address design issues, meet design milestones and escalate as needed. Driving risk mitigation meetings across region.
- Driving process improvements, tool optimization,prepare monthly/quarterly business review reports across region
- Creating and tracking metrics related to cost, quality and duration of design as well as collecting data from construction and commissioning teams as designs are implemented.
- Establishing capital project design budgets and contributing to complex business cases for existing region and new region deployment.
- Collaborating with AWS finance teams to secure funding for projects.
- Working in partnership with AWS Engineering leads to schedule engineering resources and influence design changes based on internal customer needs.
- Partnering with internal customers to establish project scope, schedule and deliverables.
- Managing document controller's workflow and audit of deliverables
Managing the interfaces, stakeholders' coordination and have oversight on follow-through from due diligence to design, to construction to operations across project life cycle

Basic Qualifications

The Infrastructure Senior Manager is an intermediate level role responsible for driving Datacenter Site Operations. The Mumbai Datacenter Site Management roles is part of the Data Center Site Management structure responsible for oversight of the Datacenter site Operations, Build-out of the technology infrastructure, maintaining high service standards and driving efficiencies for India Business. + The Data Center Site Manager will ensure that the team provides timely and quality delivery of the following site functions:
+ **Client Delivery:** Through partnerships, collaboration ensure operational support for project deliverables, remaining committed to timeline and budgets
+ **Infrastructure Build-outs** : Follow product design standards, standardized cabling techniques, and perform regular quality checks for physical provisioning. Plan Infrastructure build-out with an objective of maintaining resiliency, managing capacity and with a foresight on technology changes for future upgrades
+ **Change Implementations** : Manage operational changes and critical facility changes, Risk analysis, and review of change implementation steps.
+ **Technical Incidents** : Investigations, Performing break-fixes, Coordinating immediate actions, Comprehensive root cause analysis, Corrective actions
+ **Risk:** Run the risk agenda for the group, performing control assessments and peer reviews with an objective of maintaining high standards for Audit ratings. Support internal and external audits
+ **Access Management:** Ensure an access control design and access control procedures that can provide sufficient audit trails, traceability
+ **Asset Management** : Diligently follow procedures for Asset life-cycle changes and Inventory controls thereby protecting physical Infrastructure assets and information assets (tape media etc.) at all times
+ **Site & Supplier Governance:** For supplier functions at the DC site or when dealing with other IT suppliers, setup a governance framework to review of Service level KPI's (Key performance indicators), maintenance schedules and key risk indicators and set high standards on supplier delivery
**Qualifications:**
+ 10+ years of experience in a Technology Infrastructure role with people management experience
+ Experience in a Financial Services or large complex and/or global environment preferred
+ Relevant Datacenter Site Operations experience with skills in Datacenter build, Infrastructure solutioning/integration will be an added advantage
+ Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audience
+ Ability to develop projects required for design of metrics, analytical tools, benchmarking and best practices
+ Effective written and verbal communication skills
+ Effective analytic/diagnostic skills
+ Ability to partner with virtual and in-person teams, define goals to a team, and work to a deadline
