**Your day at NTT DATA**
The role of Critical Facilities Operations and Maintenance Engineer is a seasoned subject matter expert, responsible for working with all major systems within a facility or building such as electrical and HVAC systems and performs regular maintenance on all systems.
This role designs, plans, installs, and / or maintains mechanical, electrical, and other infrastructure systems in mission-critical, high-risk, or high-reliability data center environments.
**What you'll be doing**
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Designs, plans, installs, and/or maintains mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other infrastructure systems in mission-critical, high-risk, or high-reliability environments such as data centers or utilities infrastructure.
+ Works with all major systems within a facility or building such as electrical and HVAC systems and performs regular maintenance on all systems.
+ Ensures proficient understanding of sensitive facility components that may be impacted by failures or malfunctions of infrastructure systems.
+ Analyzes current operating conditions and recommends new preventative and proactive methods for maintaining and monitoring facilities systems.
+ Evaluates facility standards and practices to improve maintenance procedures and ensure optimal operational efficiency.
+ Complies with organizational and governmental safety standards and coordinates response to emergency situations and ensures that corrective measures are rapid and thorough.
+ Participates in the planning and installation of new facility systems and may work with multiple components including HVAC systems, air or liquid cooling systems, CRAC/CRAH units, power distribution units, fire systems, life safety systems, etc.
+ Repairs all systems and monitoring and troubleshooting systems as problems arise.
+ Coordinates with building administration to ensure common area services are properly provided to client and list services.
+ Manages the feedback, response and corrective action (if any) process to address any client feedback and concerns on all facility matters.
+ Assists in ensuring facility assets and installations are accounted for and monitored within the relevant policies and reporting procedures.
+ Completes work order requests accurately and on time and within budget.
+ May be required to order parts and supplies for maintenance and repairs.
+ Assist in scheduling and supervising vendors/subcontractors during equipment / systems maintenance and service.
+ Provides recommendation of improvements to the operations and maintenance program on an on-going basis.

Basic Qualifications

**Your day at NTT DATA**
The Senior Manager, Critical Facilities Operations and Maintenance is a senior management role, responsible for the operational integrity, commissioning and regulatory compliance of the electrical power, mechanical, monitoring and control systems, and the processes that maximize customer uptime in the most cost-effective way for a highly available, concurrently maintainable, fault tolerant Enterprise Class Data Center. This role interacts with employees, vendors, partners, contractors, and clients.
This senior management role is accountable for leading cross functional teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture focused on achieving operational excellence.
**Key responsibilities:**
+ Provides applied electrical, mechanical, integrated control and water chemistry technical expertise for the entire data center.
+ Coordinates the activities of contractors and consultants for daily operations and critical maintenance (UPS systems, generators, switchgear, and chiller maintenance).
+ Ensures relevant teams works effectively to achieve required goals/objectives.
+ Directly interfaces with Construction management team, contractors, and consultants for all phased data center construction commissioning, including integration and testing of new systems while maintaining critical systems online.
+ Works with relevant teams to track and complete an aggressive preventive and predicative maintenance schedule for critical maintenance and system commissioning.
+ Ensures data center operates at maximum operational efficiency, including analyzing existing operating conditions, recommending new technologies, improving overall efficiency and driving cost reduction.
+ Conducts training with the relevant operations/maintenance teams on equipment, relevant procedures/processes and manages and maintains all training documentation.
+ Manages systems to avoid unplanned, customer-impacting outages.
+ Directly manages data floor and back of house electrical loading and capacity, including client installations and database systems.
+ Participates in rotational on-call schedule to respond to emergency situations at the data center.
+ Provides site leadership, implements training, and acts as both a coach and mentor to site employees.
+ May require late night work approximately once every other week to meet critical maintenance windows and scheduling.
+ Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.

+ Extended knowledge of current NFPA Electrical, Fire and Life Safety and building codes.

· Communicate operating philosophies, technical information, objectives and expectations to Amazon personnel and to the vendor critical facilities management teams.
· Providing hands on facility support where required (e.g. installation of new equipment, decommissioning of equipment, replacement of faulty equipment, internal audits.etc.)
· Oversee technical compliance auditing and the effective and timely close out of corrective action plans. Perform annual operational reviews with a focus on compliance with the Amazon standards and all applicable regulatory requirements. (Audits).
· Manage the development and delivery of the portfolio of Energy/Environmental Management Programs. Keep abreast of Data Center industry innovation.
Incident and Emergency Response:
o Reviewing incident reports, documenting periodic trend summaries, and providing updates and recommended actions to management.
o Managing information flow during incidents while providing regular updates to management.
o Manage and coordinate with vendors to resolve any incidents during emergency situations. This may require to physically be dispatched on to site to investigate and resolve the issue.

Basic Qualifications
Min 6-8 years of of Data Center operations and on-call support experience for Data Center facilities.
Min 2-3 years to in managing infrastructure of Data Center with an exposure in power generation / manufacturing/ panel/ mission critical facilities based industry. ( Capable to handle the resolution of issues till circuit level.).
A graduate degree in a technical field (Electrical Engg, Mech Engg, Industrial Engg) OR a diploma in Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering with a min. 4 years experience for the preferred generation / manufacturing/ panel/ mission critical facilities based industry.
Preferred Qualifications
An excellent understanding of the Electrical systems in critical Data Center operations that include but not limited to utility substation feeds, transformers, switchgear, VFI Class UPS, DRUPS, PDUs, ATS, STS, SLA/VRLA batteries and associated systems, diesel/gas turbine generators and related fuel systems, Surge Suppression, Active Harmonic Filtering, battery monitoring systems, branch circuit monitoring systems, SCADA systems. ·
An excellent understanding of the Mechanical systems in critical Data Center operations include but not limited to CRAC/CRAHs/AHUs, chillers, cooling towers, storage tanks, chemical system, heat exchangers, piping systems, pumps, valves, duct systems, fans, dampers. An excellent understanding of other facilities systems used in Data Centers and Mission critical facilities, including but not limited to fire detection and suppression systems, plumbing and drainage systems, Building Monitoring Systems, automatic control systems. An excellent understanding of design, procurement, suitability of application, testing and commissioning.
Certifications/Accreditations that will be viewed positively: PMP; Prince2; ITIL v2/3; BICSI; ASHRAE, CDCP/S/E or equivalent is desirable but not mandatory.

Data Center Operations designs, installs and maintains the world's largest Computing Infrastructure. Our scope of work includes systems, repairing, dealing with issues, handling and tracking parts and assisting in Data Center maintenance. Amazon Data Centers are large-scale high-density centers where you will help change the face of Technology in the region.
Key job responsibilities
As Data Centre Operations Engineer, you will be the primary point of contact for internal customers. There is never a dull moment as each day presents itself with different challenges. Some of the key responsibilities you will undertake are:
- You will troubleshoot technical issues on advanced hardware, ranging from servers, storage and networking devices on a 24/7 basis.
- You will maintain a high level of system reliability and availability.
- You will participate in projects to enhance operational efficiencies with opportunities to share experiences and knowledge with our global network of technical experts.
- You will share knowledge and help train less technical staff on the best practices related to all service owner issues

- Installation and configurations on Data center Servers and Network systems
- Installation, troubleshooting and replacement of internal and external hardware parts of Servers and Network devices
- Work within a ticket-based environment and work on systematic problem resolution
- Work on rotational shift-based schedule to maintain high system reliability
- Collaborate with internal teams and share ideas and contribute in innovative projects to improve DC work environment and overall efficiencies.
- This is a physically active role, we are always on the move onsite.
