**Responsibilities**
+ To provide support to the Ground & Water Team for all geo-environmental data management type activities (gINT, mobile data capture, incorporation of third-party data, AGS Data Validation / QA Checking / Import / Export).
+ gINT Database Management and support to consultants (data entry, data import + export, reporting, development of existing tools).
+ Troubleshooting and manipulation of gINT databases to provide the project team with the relevant data to support the writing of geo-environmental reports.
+ Providing mentoring to Ground & Water staff as required in relation to all gINT / Mobile Data Capture / Digital Reporting processes, inclusive of interactive PowerBI Dashboards.
+ Ongoing development of in-house field digital data capture processes and systems including development of new tools and supporting the implementation of digital innovation strategies.
+ Take an active role in promoting the use and understanding of AGS Data Transfer Format within the wider G&W team.
+ Aid in review and production of specifications for Ground Investigation Contracts in relation to delivery of digital data (AGS Data Transfer Format).
+ Supporting wider Environmental strategy for new systems development, consolidation and new technology in relation to the Ground & Water business unit.
+ Reporting to the Directors on the performance of the data management system and any need for improvement.
**Further responsibilities of this role include, but not limited to:**
+ Reporting to and consulting with the Directors.
+ Managing fleet of tablets / smartphones including liaison with IT department regarding mobile data contracts and assisting with the reallocation of IT equipment internally within the department.
+ Identify technical developments, training, and research in relation to the G&W Digital System.
+ Collaborating with others in the Company to ensure the integrity of Ground Investigation data delivery.
+ Liaison with project teams to understand future data analysis requirements.
+ Liaison with third-party suppliers of AGS Data (both Contractors and Laboratories) to ensure quality and accuracy of deliverables to WSP.
+ Represent WSP at meetings regarding Ground Investigation digital data delivery.
+ Performing other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time by your line-manager.
**Key Competencies**
+ Comprehensive ground investigation data management experience gained from working in either a contracting or consultancy background, with an understanding of the data requirements within technical reports (such as Desk Study Reports, Ground Investigation Reports (GIRs) and Interpretive Reports)
+ Intermediate to advanced knowledge of AGS Data Transfer Format (including variations of versions 3 & 4) is essential, along with practical experience of at least one Ground Investigation Data Management system such as gINT, HolebaseSI, OpenGround, Geodasy.
+ Proven experience acting in a senior role.
+ Practical experience of managing and understanding database relationships (e.g. Access, SQL, PostGreSQL)
+ Experience in most aspects of AGS / Ground Investigation data management throughout the life cycle of a project, together with examples of applying relevant standards and technical knowledge.
+ An analytical mindset with excellent motivational, communication, people management skills and an ability to influence and coach people.
+ Experience and understanding of the ground investigation / contaminated land industry.
+ Be a collaborator, self-starter, and problem solver with a mature approach and ability to be part of and contribute to a larger team.
**Preferable Skills**
+ Be familiar with the work of the AGS Data Management Working Group and future development of the Data Transfer Format.
+ An understanding of BIM and specifically the relationship with geo-environmental/geotechnical data.
+ Experience with cloud-based geotechnical software, particularly OpenGround by Bentley Systems (not essential).
+ A working knowledge of software including, but not limited to; HolebaseSI, OpenGround, Autodesk Civil 3D, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, ESDAT, Equis.
+ Ability to write and run macros in Excel or query other such databases using the relevant syntax.
+ Experience and understanding of SQL Databases.
+ Any coding experience using common programming languages
**Qualifications**
+ Degree in Environmental Sciences or Engineering related discipline: for example Geology, Environmental Geoscience, Environmental Engineering or Civil, Data sciences
