What role you will play in our team

Provide leadership and guidance in Asset Information Management as a Maintenance Engineer (Information Management) from Technology Center in Bengaluru, Karnataka

What you will do

  • Provides leadership, guidance, and directional support in Asset Information Management from Technology Center
  • Oversee delivery of IM services to Assets and Business units though deployment and performance monitoring of standardized, scalable document and data management processes and tools including documentation control and engineering drawing updates.
  • Support IM Service Provider resourcing for Assets and Business units including planning, deployment, demobilization, training, and performance monitoring.
  • Develop new processes & bring continuous improvement in Information Management through KPI monitoring and utilizing experience.
  • Responsible for mentoring junior engineers in Information Management best practices.
  • Facilitate workshops to collate business requirement and propose business process and/or system enhancement.
  • Collaborate with Project IM personnel to ensure alignment with Asset/Business Unit requirements for handover and on-going brownfield project activities.
  • Conducts and Steward Information Management surveillance and assessments including Management System compliance, audits and reviews.
  • Facilitate communications and collaboration between global IM practitioners and stakeholders to drive standardization, continuous improvement, and business value.
  • Maintain governance and change management for processes, standards, and tools.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders across the corporation to resolve Information Management queries and issues.

About You

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation) from a recognized university with CGPA 7.0 or above
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Oil and Gas Production/Operations or similar industry
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in the field of Operations/Maintenance & understanding of industry processes such as MOCs, HAZOP, PSSR, System audits etc.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Information Management domain working with EDMS tools (Aconex, OpenText, Documentum), IM standards, requirements, workflows and procedures.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Field Maintenance
  • Thorough technical knowledge of different types of Engineering and Equipment drawings and documents including typical data attributes.
  • In-depth knowledge of Project & Asset Information Management best practices and Standards
  • Good understanding of Document lifecycle process from Projects to Operations handover, redlines & as-building process, concurrent engineering process etc.
  • Good understanding of IM Standards such as CFIHOS, Reference Data Libraries including Equipment and Document Classification.
  • Good understanding of Plant Breakdown Structures, Document Numbering, Equipment Tag Numbering, Document Revisioning, Document Classification & Taxonomy

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

  • Proficient in EDMS tools such as Aconex, OpenText, Vault.
  • Strong knowledge on the concept of 2D and 3D Engineering tools.
  • Knowledge on SAP/CMMS preferred.

    What You'll Do

    • 'EIIC functional excellence organization is aligned to CTO's strategy to drive 'One Eaton Engineering Functional Excellence'. Charter of this organization is to simplify & create better work experiences for our Engineers by transforming existing engineering work processes. EIIC functional excellence organization will work with global Engineering Functional Excellence leaders in CTO's office, Electrical and Industrial Sector businesses.
    • This lead engineering position will lead of development and evolution of next generation product development life cycle (PDLC) deliverables & Engineering information management. This position will be responsible for driving the faster product launch processes across the organization by leveraging existing PDLC framework (PROLaunch) and digitalization approaches thru information management. This role will develop the long-term roadmap for developing and deploying PDLC tools, templates & guides. This role will also lead the development of the information management & reuse framework that leverages all the existing details released as a part of new product introduction, sustaining engineering projects etc. This role will support to define and implementation of a state-of-the-art Engineering Information Management (EIM) system across the organization. These EIM systems/Tools would allow the easy-to-use collaboration on a Single Source of Truth for engineering data across teams and disciplines. '

    'The candidate in this position is responsible to :

    • Use systematic tools to gather the voice of customers from key functions of all businesses on tools used during NPI cycle, synthesize inputs to form requirements for improvement
    • Work with business stakeholders for capturing requirements, post processing of data by utilizing digital tools, benchmarking to develop comprehensive proposals.Competent in understanding the business requirements and efficient enough to translate the same into IT requirements (Past experience as business analyst or requirement analyst will be added advantage)
    • Effectively integrate various processes, templates, department-level best practices and new product design & transferable practices, within the organization for different project types (from sustaining till new product and technology developmeent programs)
    • Identify applicable opportunities for automation & digitization of Engineering templates using appropriate tools such as Excel Macros, VBA, Python, PowerApps & other O365 tools. Continuously builds digital skills to simplify processes & tools used during NPI. Develops impactful dashboards and reports using Power BI and sharing those reports effectively using Microsoft Power Platform.
    • Conceptualize and implement next gen digtizal tool and data framework including databases, risk assessments and visual dashboards
    • Develop and implement effective training plans for all levels of the organization that help develop and sustain adoption of upgraded process
    • Conduct process health assessments, monitors assessment outcome and corrective action plans, and impact business results
    • Identify opportunities to standardize and digitize Engineering tools and processes across businesses and lead efforts to get them implemented
    • Manage effective stakeholder communications. Improve organization responsiveness to stakeholder requirements. Communication and manage customer expectations and commitments internal to the business.'

    Qualifications

    • Required: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Electrical. Strong understanding of organizational product launch processes & digital transformation of various tools and templates
    • 5-7 years' experience in New product design with a total experience of 10-12 years

    Skills

    • Hands on experience of working with product Engineering & should have worked on Product design life cycle (PDLC)
    • Should understand the technical as well as IT requirements and be efficient in conveying with CFT and IT
    • Understands DFSS product development methodology
    • Solid understanding of Engineering information management processes
    • Prefer DFSS/ DMAIC certified from reputed organization
    • KNows various digitization platforms, approaches and SDLC process
    • Capable of data analysitcs and knows digital dashboarding, data artchitecture etc.'
    • 'Leadership skills - the capability to lead change, excellent communication and presentation skills – both verbal and written with the ability to make necessary status reports and technical presentations to Eaton management, Good analytical skills and business acumen, High proficiency in preparing and managing schedules.
