**About Role:**
NAS Storage Engineer:
The Storage Engineer function ensures the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of NAS arrays and data paths, out-of-band managed storage arrays, as well as any array or appliance-based replication.
**Role Descriptions**
Duties and Responsibilities of the Storage Engineer function:
+ Meets and exceeds client SLAs on incident troubleshooting and responsiveness while managing and maintaining a large distributed storage infrastructure
+ Supports release and life cycle process NAS storage array installs, upgrades, and decommissions
+ Contributes to operational readiness of platforms during onboarding and through ongoing process documentation creation, updates to guidelines, policies, change, and audit procedures
+ Participates in troubleshooting efforts for storage issues, root cause analysis, and performance analysis and tuning
+ Troubleshoot network and client connectivity issues to the NAS environments.
+ ITIL-compliant champion for incident, request, change, and with particular focus on problem management
+ Participate in the modernization and automation of storage infrastructure
+ Deployment of new NAS array infrastructure
+ Maintain accurate CMDB

  • Experience with SnapMirror, SnapVault, SnapLock, MetroCluster , and high-availability configurations .

Roles and Responsibilities

Technical Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of Ceph Storage Engineers to architect, deploy, and manage scalable Ceph solutions.

Architecture & Design: Plan complex, multi-datacenter Ceph infrastructures with high availability and performance.

Deployment & Operations: Oversee installation, tuning, upgrades, and lifecycle of Ceph clusters across environments.

Performance & Capacity: Benchmark and optimize Ceph storage. Conduct capacity planning for growing workloads.

Automation & Python Scripting: Develop custom tools and automate tasks using Python to improve efficiency and reliability.

Upstream Contribution: Actively contribute to the Ceph open-source community code, bug fixes, enhancements.

Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Build robust monitoring solutions. Resolve critical issues swiftly and systematically.

Backup, DR & Security: Design resilient backup/DR strategies and ensure compliance with security best practices.

Cross-Team Collaboration: Work with infra, dev, and network teams to integrate Ceph into larger infrastructure stacks.
