Job Title: Senior SQL Server Database Administrator – Azure

Location: Remote

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Senior SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in Azure SQL Server and Azure SQL Subscription management. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing, securing, optimizing, and migrating SQL Server environments, both on-premises and in the Azure cloud. This is a fully remote opportunity for professionals located in India.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and administer SQL Server databases (on-premises and Azure SQL).
• Plan, implement, and oversee Azure SQL Subscription services, ensuring high availability and cost-efficiency.
• Perform database performance tuning , query optimization, indexing, and monitoring.
• Configure and maintain disaster recovery , backups , and high availability solutions (Always On, Geo-Replication, etc.).
• Implement and monitor security policies , access controls, and compliance standards.
• Plan and execute database migrations from on-premises SQL Server to Azure SQL .
• Work with development and DevOps teams to support CI/CD and database lifecycle management.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production issues and proactively address database health and capacity concerns.
• Develop and maintain documentation , runbooks, and best practices.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 10 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Azure SQL Server and Azure SQL Subscription management.
• Strong experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting database issues.
• Deep knowledge of T-SQL , backup/recovery , replication , indexing , and security configurations .
• Proven experience with migration projects from on-premises SQL Server to Azure.
• Familiarity with Azure services like Azure Monitor , Azure Security Center , and Azure Automation .
• Understanding of licensing and cost management for Azure SQL resources.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or equivalent certification.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation.
• Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools and CI/CD pipelines related to database deployments.
• Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments.

Work Environment:

• Fully remote role; candidates must be located in India .
• Flexible work hours with occasional availability needed for collaboration across international teams.

Job Summary

· 8–10 years of professional experience in data engineering.

· Deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL, indexing, query tuning, stored procedures).

· Strong hands-on knowledge of Snowflake (database design, ingestion, data sharing, security, and resource management).

· Proven experience designing and implementing end-to-end data warehousing and ETL/ELT solutions.

· Prior exposure to SSIS package review, analysis, and troubleshooting.

· Strong understanding of data architecture, performance tuning, and optimization strategies.

· Experience in leading or mentoring developers and providing architectural guidance.

· Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate technical requirements into business-aligned solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead the design and development of data pipelines and integration flows across SQL Server and Snowflake.

· Review and guide developers on SSIS package optimization and troubleshooting.

· Set coding and design best practices for SQL and Snowflake development, ensuring performance, scalability, and robustness.

· Mentor junior and mid-level data engineers by providing technical guidance, peer reviews, and knowledge sharing.

· Collaborate with solution architects and business stakeholders to design data models, schemas, and warehouse solutions for enterprise analytics.

· Drive initiatives to ensure data quality, governance, and compliance across platforms.

· Partner with cross-functional teams to prioritize and deliver strategic data engineering solutions.

· Troubleshoot complex issues, conduct root cause analysis, and propose long-term improvements.
