Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Oracle Database Lead to lead our database management efforts with a focus on Oracle technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Oracle database administration, including SQL tuning and optimization, replication, high availability design, troubleshooting, backup and recovery, upgrades/migrations, and Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control configuration.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead and participate in RFP processes, design and architect Oracle database solutions to meet the organization's business requirements, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.

2. Develop and implement methodologies to offer Oracle database services on IaaS and PaaS models also to ensure the IaaS and PaaS offerings are scalable, secure, and user-friendly.

3. Design, implement, and manage containerized Oracle database environments using Docker and Kubernetes.

4. Develop container orchestration strategies to improve scalability and manageability of Oracle solutions.

5. Architect and implement Oracle database solutions for high availability, including Real Application Clusters (RAC), Data Guard, and other HA technologies.

6. Design & architect monitoring tools and alerting systems to proactively detect and create self healing capabilities for issues in database environments, including performance bottlenecks, database down and failover.

7. Conduct performance analysis and tuning of Oracle databases to optimize resource utilization, query performance, and system throughput.

8. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and best practices. Provide training and mentorship to junior team members as needed.

Desired Skills

1. Proven experience in managing RFP processes and vendor evaluations.

2. Deep expertise in Oracle database technologies, including Oracle Database 12c/19c, Real Application Clusters (RAC), GoldenGate, Data Guard, and Enterprise Manager.

3. Proficiency in database performance tuning, query optimization and troubleshooting.

4. Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control installation, configuration, and usage.

5. Experience with database backup and recovery strategies, including RMAN and Data Pump.

+ Own the delivery of small to medium size projects where you will drivecontribute directly as an individual and take help of few others in the team.
+ Lead key database releases for Dev, QA, Alpha, Production and DR as part of the overall SDLC.
+ In-depth knowledge of database administration/management processes and strategies.
+ Solve complex, non-routine problems and determine the best solution through cost/benefit analysis.
+ Exercise judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action.
+ Work with other teams as a lead and frequently interact with functional peer groups.
+ Work with IT Service Management and other groups and make sure that all events, incidents and problems are resolved as per the SLA.
+ Lead or participate in initiatives in analyzing database resources for optimum configuration, performance and storage architecture information and provide enhancements and recommendations as needed.

**What We're Looking For:**
+ Excellent Oracle hands on experience (Experience with additional data platforms like PostgreSQL/Oracle/AWS/Terraform is a huge Plus).
+ AWS RDS and Aurora postgres is mandatory
+ Extensive experience with database support, administration, performance tuning, architecture, scalability, and stability and database monitoring.
+ Robust Experience with Golden Gate, RAC, and Data Guard is a must.
+ Good knowledge on PL/SQL, Shell Scripting or any other scripting or programming language is a must.
+ Knowledge on Informatica is a plus.
+ Work on Complex significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles ability to multi-task and manage priorities effectively.
+ Excellent communication skills, with strong verbal and writing proficiencies.
