Our client, a leading financial institution, is looking for a highly skilled Senior Quantitative Analyst to join their remote risk management division. This role is entirely remote, allowing for a flexible and productive work environment. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and maintaining sophisticated quantitative models to assess and manage financial risks. You will leverage your expertise in statistical modeling, programming, and financial markets to provide critical insights and support strategic decision-making. Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and validate complex quantitative models for credit risk, market risk, operational risk, and liquidity risk.
  • Implement models into production environments using programming languages such as Python, R, or C++.
  • Conduct rigorous back-testing and stress-testing of models to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and potential risk exposures.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to communicate risk metrics and model performance to stakeholders across the organization.
  • Stay current with regulatory requirements (e.g., Basel III/IV, IFRS 9) and industry best practices in quantitative finance and risk management.
  • Collaborate with business lines, IT, and audit to ensure model compliance and effective implementation.
  • Research and evaluate new modeling techniques and technologies.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to junior analysts and cross-functional teams.
  • Document model methodologies, assumptions, and limitations thoroughly.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of the firm's overall risk management framework.
Qualifications:
  • Master's or Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Financial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in quantitative analysis, model development, or risk management within the banking or financial services industry.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, C++, SQL.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical modeling, machine learning techniques, and financial mathematics.
  • Experience with risk management frameworks and regulatory capital calculations is highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex quantitative concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a remote setting.
  • Experience with big data technologies and cloud platforms is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and validate complex quantitative models for market risk, credit risk, and operational risk.
  • Utilize advanced statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms to analyze large datasets and identify risk patterns.
  • Design and build stress testing scenarios and backtesting methodologies to assess model performance and robustness.
  • Work closely with trading desks, portfolio managers, and other business units to understand their risk exposures and provide tailored analytical solutions.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of risk management systems and infrastructure.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on risk metrics, model performance, and regulatory compliance for senior management and regulatory bodies.

  • Strong understanding of financial instruments, markets, and various risk management frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing statistical models, including time series analysis, regression, Monte Carlo simulations, and machine learning techniques.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex quantitative concepts to non-technical audiences.
