Job Title: Inventory (Demand Planning) Manager
Experience: 8 to 15 years
Location: Coimbatore
1. Inventory Planning & Optimization:
Develop and implement inventory strategies to maintain optimal stock levels, ensuring a balance between demand and supply.
Monitor and analyse inventory levels, ensuring they align with business goals and market demands.
Conduct regular reviews of store categorization, SKU categorization (VED process), and purchase norms.
Ensure the average weekly inventory level is maintained below 25-30 days without GIT/Open PO.
Oversee the SKU fill rate and ensure timely replenishment to meet sales forecasts.
2. Demand Forecasting & Supply Planning:
Collaborate with the business and marketing teams to develop accurate demand forecasts.
Review and approve the 3-month demand and supply plan, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Publish the Offer Planning Calendar and ensure inventory is aligned with promotional activities.
Monitor and improve the Availability Index (AI) for Prime and Accessories, ensuring it meets the target of >85% and >75% respectively.
3. Process Implementation & Improvement:
Lead weekly inventory meetings, ensuring action points are tracked and resolved promptly.
Implement and monitor the D-Score improvement process for Prime and Accessories, aiming for Gross >85% and AI >98%.
Oversee the RTV (Return to Vendor) process, ensuring timely closure of sellable and defective items.
Conduct weekly aging inventory meetings to track and reduce slow-moving and obsolete stock.
Implement and monitor the CTO (Customer Take Out) sellout tracker, ensuring sell out rates exceed 90%.
4. Reporting & Analytics:
Publish daily and weekly inventory reports, including stock summaries, sellout trends, and aging stock levels.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive inventory dashboard to provide real- time visibility into inventory metrics.
Ensure the timely publication of EOL (End of Life) stock and sellout trackers, with a focus on moving obsolete stock to high-performing stores.
Provide regular updates on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory turnover, fill rates, and stock accuracy.
5. Team Leadership & Development:
Lead and mentor a team of inventory planners and analysts, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
Conduct quarterly knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance the team s understanding of inventory categorization, demand planning, and supply chain processes.
On-board and train new team members, ensuring a smooth transition and quick integration into the team.
Define and track KPIs for the planning team, ensuring continuous improvement in performance.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with the procurement, warehouse, and logistics teams to ensure seamless inventory flow.
Collaborate with the finance team to monitor inventory costs and ensure compliance with budgetary constraints.
Partner with the marketing and sales teams to align inventory planning with promotional campaigns and sales targets.

About the role:
Demand Planning Advisors play a key advisory and support role in ensuring a robust demand plan is created for our regional teams in order to support the regional Sales & Operational Planning (S&OP) process, and by bringing together customer requirements and assumptions through very close collaboration with local Sales teams.
By using our Global Planning Digital tool, the Demand Planners own the demand plan using system-generated and cleansed statistical model data and by layering-in appropriate Intelligence from Sales and Marketing teams. This includes a detailed analysis of key data, insights and assumptions, and by working closely with regional Sales teams, capturing any relevant adjustments to the demand plan to reflect our customers’ genuine realistic unconstrained demand.
This position requires proven demand planning experience, combining strong statistical modelling skills within our digital planning tool and the ability to foster positive relationships with Sales and Marketing in the markets to create a solid and accurate demand plan.
Responsibilities :
Demand Forecasting & Analysis
Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts using historical sales data, market trends, and statistical models within our global planning tool. This includes appropriately cleansing historical events, running robust statistical modelling, and deciding what is appropriate Intelligence to add looking forward.
Monitor and analyze forecast accuracy, forecast value, forecast bias, through multiple levels of granularity, identifying and addressing deviations for action and alignment with portfolio Sales team.
Provide insights on demand trends, seasonality, and risks to improve planning accuracy.
Collaboration & Partner Management
Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work closely with PU Sales and Marketing team members and align on realistic Demand Plans to develop into Supply Planning teams.
Support the Sales & Operations Planning process by presenting the updated demand insights along with key changes to assumptions, working with the regional S&OP Manager
Work closely with Sales, Finance and regional S&OP Manager on opportunities and vulnerabilities to the demand forecast to assess impact on attainment of business targets
Collaborate with other regional teams and Global Demand Planning Excellence lead to ensure adoption of required global frameworks and standard processes.
Systems & Reporting
Use demand planning tool, Kinaxis Maestro to improve forecasting capabilities.
Maintain and improve reporting dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as forecast accuracy, bias, and inventory levels.
Continuously improve demand planning processes through data-driven insights and standard methodologies.
Experience & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field.
Experience: 5 to 8 years of experience in demand planning or related role in consumer goods, food & beverage, or manufacturing industries.
Shown experience as a Demand Planner using an advanced digital Planning tool (Kinaxis).
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in supply chain software (Kinaxis desirable) and ERP systems (e.g. SAP ECC, S4 Hana)
Strong communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to work effectively with Commercial and Sales teams based in other countries
Ability to prioritize in a dynamic, global and fast-paced environment.
You will work with:
The Regional Supply Chain Planning team, the Regional Planning & S&OP managers, and the S&OE delivery leads, along with other colleagues and teams in Sales and Marketing.
