Main Job Purpose:Central Digital Transformation is one of the most pivotal functions, standing to ensure that, through Digital initiative ,manufacturing provides a real competitive advantage for Unilever in the dynamic environment of demand through achieving competitive cost, providing high service level to customers/consumers, and delivering outstanding performance in safety, quality, productivity, sustainability standards, through its strategic partnering with manufacturing units & functions.This Digital Manager role would be instrumental to drive continuous improvement programs across India & Nepal sites, as well as expansion of the same to strategic CMs, Suppliers, & DCs. The purpose of this role would be to drive AI/ML projects, Golden batch, Digital Twin, Digital Quality etc. to sites.This role is expected to drive Lighthouse program for sites which is a coveted recognition from WEFThe role is expected to drive E2E digital programs at own units, keeping the rigor of continuous improvement at the core. It is expected to drive adoption and value creation of our top use cases like DFOS, SPC, EMS, MCT etc. The role is expected to travel to sites, understand on-ground usage and hence replicate learnings within the sites.Key Skills and Responsibilities:Digital Strategy & Vision:
+ Develop and articulate a compelling, long-term digital transformation strategy for manufacturing, aligned with the company's overall corporate objectives for growth, market leadership, and sustainability
+ Stay up to date of emerging Industry 4.0 technologies (e.g., IIoT, AI/ML, Digital Twin, Advanced Robotics, Edge Computing) and assess their applicability and potential for disruptive solutions within our manufacturing environment
+ Identify and evaluate emerging digital technologies to enhance operational efficiency, product quality, and data-driven decision-making and Implementation of Digital Tools for end-to-end manufacturing.
Program Management & Execution:
+ Lead the end-to-end management of complex, multi-site digital transformation programs, from idea generation and business case preparation to technical feasibility checking, piloting, and large-scale deployment
+ Ensure robust project governance, resource allocation, and risk management across the digital portfolio.
Manex & Digital Integration.
+ Champion the seamless integration of Manex (UMS) principles with digital technologies, ensuring digitalization acts as an accelerator for continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., data-driven OEE optimization, predictive maintenance, automated quality control)
+ Collaborate closely with global and regional Manex teams to develop and embed integrated tools and methodologies
Digital Factory:
+ Drive Digital Factory Plan Implementation for the relevant use cases.
+ Full in-depth understanding of digital factory mater apps and drive expansion of some master apps across factories
+ Adoption and value creation of specific use cases within factories/BG's
+ Regular cadence between sites and Digital team to drive effective governance of digital program
+ Working experience in IT-OT integration.
+ Collect, analyze, and interpret data from various sources to identify trends, measure the effectiveness of implemented solutions, and provide regular reports to management.
Change Management & Culture Development:
+ Lead change management efforts to foster a strong digital culture across all levels of the organization, from shop floor operators to site leadership
+ Design and conduct workshops aimed at imparting the necessary digital skills and tools to factory teams, building internal capabilities and promoting a data-driven mindset
+ Demonstrating the tangible benefits of digital transformation and empowering employees to embrace new ways of working.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
+ Build and maintain strong relationships with site leadership, regional operations teams, global IT, R&D, and external technology partners
+ Influence and persuade stakeholders at various levels to gain buy-in, secure resources, and ensure compliance for digital initiatives
+ Act as a COE and subject matter expert for digital manufacturing within the organization.
+ Continuously monitor the performance of deployed digital solutions and drive optimization efforts to maximize their value
Other Requirements:
+ Must have knowledge of Power bi, UI/UX, Python, Cybersecurity, IT-OT, ChatGPT and other AI apps(preferable).
+ Manufacturing experience Must
Professional Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering with a strong technical and analytical background in Data Science/ Analysis (preferably Chemical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, Instrumentation).
+ A post-graduate degree/Certification in Science / Engineering/Digital is advantageous.
Experience Required:ESSENTIAL:
+ A strong drive (aptitude) towards Digital Operations
+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
+ Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
+ Able to solve problems and make decisions by applying Data analytics.
+ Proven track record of successfully leading and deploying large-scale Industry 4.0 solutions (e.g., IIoT, AI/ML, Digital Twin, Advanced Analytics, ERP integration) in a manufacturing environment.
+ Strong understanding of IT-OT convergence and industrial communication protocols
PREFERRED / DESIRABLE:
+ At least 3-5 years of experience in a digitization or similar role within a manufacturing environment.
+ Strong knowledge in the Digitalization at Manufacturing Site, Industry 4.0 implementation etc.
+ Experience in ERP systems, data analytics platforms, Process automation, PLC, Servers, historians etc
