We’re looking for a sharp, market-savvy Industry Course Development Manager to lead the creation of expert-led online courses for professionals in materials, chemicals, and performance industries. This is not a traditional training or L&D role - it’s a market-driven content strategy role that requires you to think like a value marketer and build meaningful relationships with top industry experts.
You’ll identify unmet needs among formulation scientists, chemical industry product developers, and material users - and turn those insights into structured course offerings with compelling value propositions.
Key Responsibilities
Deeply understand the challenges, motivations, and technical priorities of SpecialChem’s audience (material users, formulators, engineers, R&D).
Identify high-potential course topics by mapping market needs to product strategy and industry trends.
Define the course promise and value proposition - positioning it clearly and credibly to match what professionals truly need.
Source and liaise with experts across specialties, maintaining strong relationships and guiding them in sharing their know-how effectively.
Define course objectives and outlines that align with both learner expectations and our product positioning.
Oversee content production, ensuring quality of knowledge delivery and instructional design efficiency.
Collaborate with the promotion team to support successful course launches and bundle positioning.
Track learner and expert satisfaction and continuously refine course offerings based on feedback and market shifts.
Must-Have Qualifications
4–5 years of experience in a technical B2B environment , in chemicals/ materials / plastics / adhesives / formulations / technical marketing in B2B material sciences or related fields.
Proven ability to translate chemical industry challenges into customer-relevant value propositions .
Strong audience-centric mindset - the ability to see through the lens of the user, not the product.
Experience engaging or collaborating with industry experts or technical leaders .
Excellent skills in positioning, messaging, and strategic content structuring (not just writing).
Confident communicator, capable of navigating expert relationships and collaborating cross-functionally .
Analytical mindset with a bias toward actionable insights and decision-making.
Self-driven with the ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines.
Nice-to-Have
Familiarity with industry topics in coatings, adhesives, cosmetics, plastics, or specialty chemicals.
Prior experience in product or program management within a knowledge/content-focused business.
