About the role:

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic self-starter to join our team as an Ecology Consultant .

This role will be based at our AtkinsRéalis office in Bangalore, IN.

How will you contribute to the team?

Authoring technical ecological reports.

Analysing bat sound data.

As a proficient user of GIS, supporting with desk studies, scoping sites, records of protected species and biodiversity net gain assessments.

Working to tight timescales and following an approved methodology will be key feature of the role.

Being a team player and delivering responsibilities by meeting deadlines.

Developing your technical skills through Continuing Professional Development.

Managing your own time and workload in collaboration with other team members.

Liaising with the UK team on a daily basis and building a good working relationship.

Managing work enquiries and preparing bids under the guidance of more senior staff.

Carrying out additional ad hoc activities as required by process leads.

Technical Competency:

Essential requirements

A degree in ecology/environmental sciences/environmental engineering.

3-4 years of experience working on ecology projects with experience in the UK region preferred.

Experience in Anabat Insight/ Kaleidoscope.

Proficient GIS skills (QGIS/ArcGIS).

Working knowledge of UKHab classification and the Defra Metric will be preferred.

Proficient ability to interpret, review and analyse data to produce reports.

Understanding of UK and EU Wildlife Legislation, planning policies, and licensing requirements.

Desirable requirements

Previous experience of working in international projects.

Project management experience including technical, financial and quality assurance aspects.

Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).
