The Role
As a Home Care Employee with McLean Care, you will be responsible for delivering a broad range of domestic and housekeeping services in clients' homes, including cleaning, meal preparation, laundry, and assistance with shopping and personal care tasks. This role is crucial in helping clients maintain independence, dignity, and comfort in their own homes. This opportunity is offered on a casual basis, providing the flexibility to balance work with study, family, or other commitments.
You will provide high-quality care and support to clients, building positive relationships, and respecting their wishes and preferences. You’ll also assist clients with activities such as banking, pet care, and maintaining their living spaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver domestic services such as cleaning, vacuuming, laundry, meal preparation, shopping, and other household tasks.
- Assist clients with simple care tasks like making beds, organizing clothes, and meal assistance.
- Foster a respectful and supportive environment, ensuring clients’ dignity, privacy, and independence.
- Communicate changes in client conditions to the Service Delivery Manager.
- Ensure all tasks are completed according to the individual care plan.
Skills and Qualifications Required
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Empathetic and caring approach to clients.
- Physical fitness to perform manual tasks and work standing or sitting for long periods.
- Current First Aid Certificate and CPR or willingness to obtain within three months.
- Unrestricted Australian Driver’s License and a reliable, insured vehicle.
- Previous experience in a homecare environment is desirable.
