Key Purpose of the Job:

The Electrical Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for hands on electrical and electronics maintenance of machinery, equipment used in production lines. This also includes repairs and services of electrical items, wiring, electronic panels, control panels and related instruments / gadgets used in the unit or plant facility. The role holder is responsible for attending to breakdowns and ensuring machine availability. Conducting Preventive Maintenance and repair services as per plan and schedule is critical to the role holder.

Educational Qualification / Experience required:

- Diploma in Engineering, in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics discipline

- Experience of around 4 to 6 years in Maintenance function from manufacturing sector

- Should possess hands on experience in electrical maintenance and repairs operations

Key Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for conducting electrical / electronic repairs and maintenance services for production machine and equipment breakdowns with immediate effect

2. Conduct preventive maintenance and repair services as per Preventive Maintenance schedule and plan

3. Track and monitor availability of maintenance spares and spares inventory

4. Participate in improvement initiatives and cost reduction projects in the function

5. Responsible for supervising Blue collar associates

The Electrical Maintenance Engineer (VMC/HMC) is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning, repair, and maintenance of the electrical systems within Vertical Machining Centers (VMC) and Horizontal Machining Centers (HMC) . The role involves performing troubleshooting, electrical repairs, system diagnostics, and ensuring that all electrical components of machinery are operating at optimal levels for maximum production efficiency and safety.

Key Responsibilities :

• Electrical System Maintenance : Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems in VMC and HMC machines, including motors, drives, controllers, transformers, and circuit breakers.
• Electrical System Maintenance : Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems in VMC and HMC machines, including motors, drives, controllers, transformers, and circuit breakers.
• Troubleshooting : Diagnose and resolve electrical issues related to CNC machinery, including VMC, HMC, power distribution systems, and automation equipment.
• Control Panel and Wiring Inspection : Inspect and maintain electrical control panels, wiring, and electrical components to ensure they are operating correctly and safely. Perform upgrades as required.
• Electrical Diagnostics : Use advanced diagnostic tools and techniques (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.) to troubleshoot electrical problems in the machinery, including PLCs, servo motors, and CNC control systems.
• Documentation & Reporting : Maintain accurate records of all electrical maintenance work, repairs, inspections, and parts used. Prepare detailed maintenance reports for review by management.
• Emergency Repairs : Respond to emergency breakdowns in a timely manner, quickly diagnosing and resolving electrical faults to minimize machine downtime.
• Preventive Maintenance : Create and implement a preventive maintenance schedule for electrical components of VMC and HMC machines to reduce unplanned downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment.

Preferred candidate profile:-

• Experience : 2-5 years of experience in electrical maintenance, specifically with VMC (Vertical Machining Centers) , HMC (Horizontal Machining Centers) , or similar CNC machinery.
• Technical Skills :
• Expertise in electrical systems, including AC/DC drives, servos, PLCs, HMI systems, and CNC controls
• Understanding of electrical components such as motors, transformers, sensors, and circuit breakers.
• Strong knowledge of control panel wiring and power distribution.
• Communication : Good verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members, operators, and management.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance & Troubleshooting: -

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, packaging machines, filling lines, and utilities. (Transformer, Servo, DG, Air compressor, PCC, MCC, STP etc.) Knowledge on TBM, CBM.
• Ensure minimal downtime by responding quickly to breakdowns and implementing long-term solutions.

Automation & Control Systems: -

• Hand on Experience with PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Delta, etc.), HMI, Servo system systems for automation control. In house programming & troubleshooting will add advantages.
• Troubleshoot issues related to sensors, Temp Controller, Level controller, actuators, and control circuits.

• Work with Engineering & Production team to implement process improvements and capacity expansion projects with end-to-end completion.
• Maintain and update electrical drawings, schematics, and documentation related to Engg.

Compliance, Safety & sustainability : -

• Ensure adherence to local electrical codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Conduct safety inspections and implement electrical hazard prevention measures .
• Train maintenance staff on electrical safety procedures and best industry practices.

Process Excellence : -

• Knowledge of TPM Implementation to improve the reliability of plant & machinery.
• In depth knowledge on 5S implementation & Lean principles.
• OEE, MTTR, MTBF & EFR understanding & improvement.

Engineering Documentation : -

• Practical knowledge in Preventive Maintenance Schedules & Execution, Breakdown Reports & Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Spare Parts Inventory & Bill of Materials (BOM), Electrical Safety Procedures & Work Permits, Regulatory Compliance Documentation, Energy Consumption Analysis, 5S & TPM Documentation, SOPs, checklists, and compliance record.
• Knowledge in SAP system.

Required Qualifications & Experience : -

• Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
• Experience : 7-10 years relevant experience in Electrical maintenance in Consumer Goods industry, food & beverage industry and/or cosmetic manufacturing industry.
