Asst Manager - Project Delivery - Electrical
Responsibility of end to end construction of Data Centers. Will be responsible for all technical execution, project implementation, and completion of designated project within pre-specified cost, design, quality and safety requirements.
Will be in-charge of leading the best practices for Project Construction, Quality, Safety with MEP standards for design and construction:
Construction
- Lead and support in development and implementation global safety standards and safe work culture at all projects.
- Support in all necessary regulatory & environmental clearances for projects.
- Manage the compliance of project execution activities.
- Ensure that a culture of safety is created within the business and that there are zero accidents.
- Perform regular site walks to observe progress, review construction versus design intent, and flag potential concerns for engineering review.
- Be a person of integrity, be methodical, detailed-oriented with an excellent work ethic.
- Facilitate and participate in a close working relationship with all STTGDC site personnel attending construction-based quality and assurance meetings, attend schedule and milestone review sessions, close monitoring of overall project
- management, Electrical, and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) related risk items with the Architectural Engineering (AE) subject matter experts (SMEs).
MEP Engineering Management:
- Oversee the development, review, and submission of all engineering deliverables (e.g., shop drawings, technical submittals, material approvals, calculations) in line with project schedules.
- Approve MEP-related technical documents, ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards.
- Oversee the on-site installation of MEP systems, ensuring work aligns with project specifications and local codes.
- Experience reviewing construction drawings, project specifications, and equipment submittals against construction activities to track progress and review potential issues.
- Experience with the design and operation of air handlers, pumps, chillers, fans, and other mechanical systems.
- Working knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS), Direct-Digital Control (DDC), and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
Site Coordination and Execution:
- Lead the coordination of MEP systems on-site, addressing cross-disciplinary conflicts and technical challenges.
- Attend coordination meetings with project teams and ensure MEP works progress as per schedule.
- Review and verify construction plans and shop drawings for accuracy before installation.
- Ensure timely availability of materials and equipment for MEP installations.
- Provide technical guidance on site logistics, ensuring proper material storage and installation sequencing.
Risk Management:
- Work with project management to assess and manage high-level technical risks, ensuring strategies are in place for resolution.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and update the project team on potential challenges.
Quality Control and Compliance:
- Ensure the quality and consistency of MEP installations through regular inspections and adherence to design documents.
- Provide guidance on quality control procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
- Verify that all MEP installations comply with safety regulations and building codes, with a focus on health and safety.
- Ensure capital plant items meet project requirements and conduct necessary factory inspections.
Procurement and Vendor Management:
- Oversee the procurement of MEP materials and services, ensuring alignment with technical, cost, and quality objectives.
- Resolve technical issues during the procurement phase and manage material lead times.
- Review material submittals and shop drawings from suppliers, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
Team and Subcontractor Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers, BIM modelers, and subcontractors.
- Set performance goals for senior engineers and oversee subcontractor relationships to ensure high-quality, timely engineering deliverables.
- Provide on-site technical support to resolve challenges.
Cost Control and Project Budgeting:
- Collaborate with project management to control MEP costs, identifying opportunities for savings while maintaining quality.
- Monitor performance against established budgets and initiate corrective actions as needed.
Testing, Commissioning, and Handover:
- Coordinate with testing and commissioning teams to ensure MEP systems meet performance criteria and ensure
- commissioning is completed adhering levels of commissioning stages.
- Manage the handover process, ensuring all documentation, warranties, and manuals are in place.
Key Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of Electrical Systems, HV, MV distribution and ELV systems, AIS, GIS substation execution.
- Expertise in interpreting engineering drawings, submittals, and specifications.
