**Job Summary**
This applied technology position creates software that is an integral part of Cummins' products. The role involves understanding stakeholder requirements, developing specifications, and taking ownership for the design, implementation, testing, validation, and release of software solutions that control Cummins products across a variety of customer applications. The specialist will also collaborate with OEMs, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure robust system integration and validation.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Investigate product software issues, analyze causal mechanisms, recommend and implement corrective actions, and document results.
+ Apply and improve product software development processes and tools, including coding, compiling, integration, testing, and debugging.
+ Deliver verified software features, components, and builds to product teams by collaborating with cross-functional teams.
+ Make informed decisions in areas of requirements, architecture, design, and test that affect software quality and performance.
+ Review work of less-experienced engineers to ensure robustness, reusability, and efficiency.
+ Lead smaller projects with moderate business impact or take ownership of complex components and systems with higher ambiguity.
+ Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to team members, including knowledge transfer to junior engineers and temporary employees.
+ Drive continuous improvement of work processes and systems across business units.
+ Manage system integration of Cummins digital products for India, including end-to-end validation and collaboration with OEMs and suppliers.
+ Support reporting, documentation, and training for team deliverables.

**Must-Have:**
+ Strong expertise in automotive domain protocols: **UDS, CAN, J1939** .
+ Hands-on experience with CAN simulation tools ( **CANalyzer, PCAN-View, PCAN-Explorer** ).
+ Proven experience in software testing: test case design, execution, defect reporting, and documentation.
+ Experience with test bench setup, including hardware and integration readiness.
+ Strong knowledge in system integration and validation.
+ Effective communication skills and domain knowledge in **Telematics/IoT testing** .
**Good-to-Have:**
+ Knowledge of **embedded systems** and applications.
+ Experience with **Postman** and **Swagger** for API testing.
+ Familiarity with **MySQL databases** .
+ Exposure to **AWS Cloud** environments.
**Experience**
+ Prior Senior or Lead Engineer experience in a relevant discipline with a proven track record in technical problem solving and quality decision-making.
