Job Description
Our client, a global technology firm, is seeking a highly qualified Remote Employment Law Specialist to provide expert legal guidance on all aspects of employment law. This is a critical, fully remote role that requires a deep understanding of labor regulations and best practices. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance, managing employee relations issues, and mitigating legal risks associated with the workforce.

- Advise management and HR on all employment-related legal matters, including hiring, termination, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour laws, and employee benefits.
- Draft, review, and update employment contracts, offer letters, employee handbooks, and company policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Conduct internal investigations into employee grievances and disciplinary matters, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies.
- Represent the company in employment-related litigation, administrative proceedings, and agency investigations.
- Develop and deliver training programs for managers and employees on key employment law topics, such as anti-harassment, diversity and inclusion, and compliance.
- Stay current with evolving employment laws and regulations, assessing their impact on the company and recommending necessary policy adjustments.
- Manage and negotiate settlements in employment disputes.
- Advise on issues related to workforce planning, reorganizations, and reductions in force.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations as they pertain to employee information.
- Collaborate with HR to develop and implement effective talent acquisition and retention strategies from a legal perspective.
- Provide guidance on leave administration, accommodation requests, and disability matters.
- Monitor compliance with immigration laws and visa sponsorship requirements for employees.
- Contribute to the development of a positive and compliant workplace culture.
- Review and advise on executive compensation agreements and severance packages.
- Perform legal due diligence for M&A transactions related to the employee base.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Bar and in good standing in at least one jurisdiction.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of dedicated experience practicing employment law, preferably with significant in-house experience or at a reputable firm specializing in labor and employment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Proven experience in drafting and negotiating employment agreements and policies.
- Experience managing employment litigation and administrative claims.
- Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and standard office software.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with HR, management, and employees.
- High ethical standards and professional integrity.
