**MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE**
Responsible for providing leadership to the Engineering Function (Utilities, Projects, E&I, Maintenance & Reliability, and Facilities functions at site, directing operations to ensure that safety, quality, environmental control, production output, and Utility cost and other objectives are achieved.
Responsible for putting in place an effective operational structure for the Engineering Function (Utilities,Projects, E&I, Maintennace & Reliability, and Facilities) at site.
**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Responsible for ensuring utilities equipments are maintained to the highest level of safety and work to avoid lost time accidents, with immediate response and thorough investigations and corrective actions for all hazardous occurrences and accidents.
- Lead and Implement Utility Excellence Program and Op Ex Tools / Op Ex Ways for driving continuous improvement initiatives in department. Responsible for Utility CIP Savings and leading division Energy efficiency goals
- Responsible for setting aggressive goals and targets for the departments functions and track the same by utilizing the KPIs to monitor and improve performance.
- Responsible for putting in place preventive & predictive maintenance programs and ensure that all equipments maintenance are carried out in effective manner.
- Responsible for ensuring continuous engineering support, services and utilities to manufacturing operations and to the plant in general, to achieve plant goals.
- Lead and manage capital projects and Commission to meet KPIs.
- Anticipate crisis situations and implement necessary corrective actions at the earliest
- Collaborate with Regional / Divisional Teams for driving specific UEx initatives for the site.
- Responsible for encouraging knowledge sharing and the open exchange of ideas within the function.
- Collaborate with HR Department for recruitment and selection of personnel for the utility function.
- Responsible for ensuring that contractors working for department are in full compliance with all GMP EHS norms inclusive of local and corporate requirements.
- Responsible for ensuring all statutory compliances are in place for effective Wastewater Treatment Plant.
- Responsible for maintaining effective working relationship with Vendors, Statutory bodies as and when required.
- Participate in Internal / External and statutory audits/ inspections for department, also prepare corrective and preventive action plan for gaps if any.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
Bachelors Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering discipline with 15 yrs of relevant experience in FMCG, Food / Pharma, other relevant Industries.
- 5 years experience in management position having multidiscipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Automation/Instrumentation & Projects) team of executive and above, as reportess. - Key criteria for evaluation

Overview:

The Senior Manager – Engineering and Projects is a part of Site Leadership
The incumbent provides support to Plant Manager by leading all engineering, maintenance and project activities in the plant.

The role holder has to lead a team of engineers of various disciplines in planning, organizing and controlling the projects and engineering related activities within the plant. The role holder is responsible for managing maintenance of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation equipment’s, in house projects & manufacturing agenda for the site.

About the role!

  • To plan, schedule, implement, supervise and review maintenance of manufacturing assets to ensure reliability and availability of production assets at levels over 95%.
  • To innovate and drive energy initiatives at plant for energy savings and to reduce cost.
  • Handling and maintaining critical equipment “fit for purpose” by complying to integrity management for plant assets,
  • Implementation of engineering procedures to ensure full compliance to the BP Group Engineering standards and procedures.
  • Lead and drive Lean Manufacturing projects of the plant, one of the critical initiatives of BP/Castrol.
  • Formulate and acquire approval for the maintenance budget for conducting Maintenance activities,
  • Review, supervise and control the annual budget expenditures to agreed budget.
  • Forecast requirements and arrange for replenishment of spares to ensure adequate spares' availability, whilst keeping the inventory to an optimum level
  • Train and refresh the engineering skills of engineering technicians to equip them for autonomous maintenance,
  • To ensure compliance to statutory obligations in the impact area,
  • Assess need for up gradation and implement new projects/minor projects to meet business
  • requirements.
  • Ensuring compliance to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 requirements for plant.
  • Responsible for HSSE in Engineering (both people and equipment) activities and compliance to BP/Castrol HSSE standards.

Roles & responsibilities:

  • Act as BP Contract Accountable to ensure safe execution of the contracted work while applying the Working with Contractor process throughout for the contract period.
  • Act as Risk Owner for risk events as assigned in the facility risk register with accountabilities including accurate documentation and assessment of the risk event, consulting with domain experts as appropriate, assign action owners to risk reduction measures, monitoring and self-verification closure with efficiency and communication of the importance to the workforce that may be affected.
  • Ensure that all procedures falling under the ownership of this role are maintained and reviewed on the agreed frequency, kept up-to-date, and changes detailed and reflected in OMS ONLINE as appropriate. Communicate any changes to the procedures that may impact understanding to the affected workforce.
  • Act as project manager for develop & construction projects, and in ongoing facility operation, acting project manager to ensure operation of assets within safe operating and safe develop limits, and ensuring inspection and maintenance of facility assets to meet all applicable BP Group Defined
  • Practices and BP Operating Management System requirements.
  • Act as task owner for applicable compliance tasks assigned. Ensure timely and appropriate completion of tasks, consistent with operational controls, and record these as complete in the compliance task management system.
  • Act as response team member for crisis / continuity management, with accountabilities consistent with relevant response plans and as assigned by the response team leader.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Should be an Engineer with at least 10-12 years of experience in Manufacturing/FMCG Organization.
  • At least 10-12 years’ experience in engineering and maintenance activities in plants preferable supply chain areas.
  • Good knowledge of project management, planning, co-ordination, negotiations with sound commercial judgment and should be able to work well under pressure and with competing priorities.
  • Basic knowledge on statutory requirements like factories act, petroleum rules, electricity acts and rules.
  • Basic knowledge in electrical and instrumentation functions
  • This position requires good people management skills and should be able to lead a team – along with a battery of contractors.
  • Experience in communicating and interfacing with all levels of the organization and external agencies/ contacts including statutory bodies
  • Demonstrate ability to manage multiple activities concurrently
  • Computer literate - Expert knowledge of MS Project/Visio, MS Office specifically Excel.
  • Ability to use and take full advantage of appropriate tools in particular.
  • Knowledge of JDE would be an advantage.

4.Team Manager, Engineering Excellence

Plant Utilities (SME) is an engineering professional who will act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in plant utilities (Industrial Steam, Compressed air, Nitrogen, process gases, cooling/heating systems) and has strong knowledge of energy conservation and management systems used in pharmaceutical industries.

Act as Global SME/ Technical leader of plant utilities discipline and work with multi-discipline cross functional teams from various sites located across world.
**How you'll spend your day**
- Should be able to act as the global SME for plant utilities and energy management in the pharmaceutical industry (sterile and non-sterile)
- Should be able to plan, design and prepare the deliverables independently required in different project phases like feasibility studies, conceptual design, Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and detail design related to plant utility systems.
- Should have strong knowledge about greenfield and brownfield projects from inception till execution including validation /commissioning including strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Should have excellent knowledge on key topics like steam boilers, condensate recovery systems, compressed air, nitrogen, process gases, cooling and heating utilities, etc.
- Should have good understanding knowledge on international codes and standards like ASHRAE, ASTM, ISO, ISPE etc.
- Responsible to prepare, develop, review and publish internal company Standards, Datasheets/URS, best practices, guidelines in line with the national/international and applicable local guidelines.
- Should be able to perform technical assessments based on the standards, guidelines, local laws, industrially accepted practices etc and prepare its remediation plan.
- Should have good knowledge in testing and commissioning of utility systems including FAT and SAT and provide required technical expertise needed to resolve issues (troubleshooting).
- Should be able to lead/organize independently the utility program like community of practice, publishing newsletters, knowledge sharing sessions, trainings and vendor presentations.

1. Ensuring the store is clean, organized, and well-maintained, adhering to hygiene and safety standards.
2. Managing the consumables procurement process for Green Field Project, including selecting vendors and contracts.Monitoring inventory levels and ensuring sufficient stock for stakeholders needs.
3. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, such as Project, Production, Finance, Purchase or supply chain, to achieve project goals.
4. Maintaining PPEs required for Green Field Project.
5. Maintaining and follow up for Returnable material gone for repair or modification.
6. Publishing records for Daily inward /received material to the stakeholders
