Overview:
Transfer Solutions is responsible for driving Mastercard's expansion into new payment flows such as Disbursements & Remittances. The team is working on creating a market-leading money transfer proposition, Mastercard Move, to power the next generation of payments between people and businesses, whether money is moving domestically or across borders, by delivering the ability to pay and get paid with choice, transparency, and flexibility.
The Product & Engineering teams within Transfer Solutions are responsible for designing, developing, launching, and maintaining products and services designed to capture these flows from a wide range of customer segments. By addressing customer pain points for domestic and cross-border transfers, the goal is to scale Mastercard's Disbursements & Remittances business, trebling volume over the next 4 years.
The Role:
What's it all about and what we expect you to do day to day?
- Individual contributor with technical team leadership who is recognized as a departmental authority and technical expert within a discipline and drives innovation and organizational growth through their contributions. Spend their time in IDEs writing non-feature code; are hands all the time and collaborate by writing interfaces, tests (unit or acceptance) and architecture fitness functions, outside of meeting rooms.

- Domain driven design is your game. Drive implementation of consumer driven contracts to allow for evolution and learning of the domain model with hyper speed while meeting our promises to other teams internally and customers alike.
- Participate and contribute to team's agile process and decisions. Drive prioritization decisions and trade-offs in working with product partners.
- Work with product owners and architects
- Simplify and improve the cost/benefit of a function/service/architecture strategy
- Apply judgment and experience to balance trade-offs between competing interests
All About You and What you need to bring:
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in the software quality engineering discipline, starting as a software engineer and progressing through the ranks to a leadership position. Payment's domain, with focus on Cross Border Payments, experience is preferred
- Product engineering experience that demonstrates thought-leadership and cross-functional influence demonstrated by a successful track record of enabling business through engineering excellence and technical innovation.
- Experience in the skills required to implement advanced test set ups in production environment e.g., A/B testing, Chaos, canary releases, blue-green deployment, feature flags
- Experience in leading the initiation and formation of large global projects including architecting, estimating, planning, implementing, and operating as well as selecting talent resources across multiple geographies and functions.
- Has skills to develop and evangelize on reference architecture and run principles to help teams adopt Engineering Principles from the start - poison pill, active/active/active, auto-scaling, self-healing, others
- Understands use cases for advanced design patterns e.g., service-to-worker, MVC, API gateway, intercepting filter, dependency injection, lazy loading, all from gang of four to implement efficient code
- Understands and implements API standards and cataloging to drive API/service adoption and commercialization
- Has skills to promote and coach teams on take on full stack development and facilitate end-to-end service ownership
- Has skills to drive trade-off discussions to set right development capacity based on value drivers e.g., regulatory, security, new business, market parity, technical debt
- Performance engineering experience to ensure applications are built to scale, run, and perform for varying demands
- Has skills to evaluate practices, metrics, and roles to continually optimize SDLC methodologies and automate processes to improve lead time and quality
Key Expectations:
- Build Testing Strategy, Test case development, Write E2E test scripts using Karate, Selenium, etc.
- Analyses systems to define testing approach to be used considering all the dependencies of the application.
- Experience with at least one major automated testing framework.
- Manage and coordinate large testing and release efforts with continuous delivery
- Adapt and instil best practices and proactively coaches others to high technical and quality standard
- Develop, maintain, and enhance automated testing processes

- Determines the most appropriate and efficient testing method - manual, automated - and tools to prove completion of test and delivery of expected system results.
- Collaborates with developers, product managers and other constituents involved in development, testing and release of software products.
- Monitors and analyses testing process, making recommendations for improvements for a given testing engagement as needed.
- Experience with manual software testing is required.
- Prior experience in the Software Quality Engineering / Test Automation engineering
- Prior experience of at least 3+ years with a variety of different testing techniques such as UI testing, Automated testing, Test driven development strategies etc.
- Experience in Agile framework, unit testing libraries/framework, Test Automation, code management tool, deployment tools
- Understanding of algorithms and data structures
- Experience in designing and implementing automated testing infrastructure.
- Knowledge of relational database in respect to maintain quality throughout data pipelines.
