The role

In this role you will enjoy a variety of work by partnering with local and federal government, regulatory authorities, and private organisations. You will have the opportunity to provide leadership and support on a range of projects, including:

• Conducting Environmental Impact assessments under NSW and Commonwealth Environmental Legislation including the preparation of SEEs, REFs, PEAs and EISs
• Undertaking environmental auditing
• Community & stakeholder engagement
• Preparing fee proposals & marketing
• Undertaking Business Development

The right team member will have:

As an established or emerging leader, you will ideally possess:

• Qualifications in Environmental Science, Town Planning or Engineering essential
• 5 + years experience in environmental impact assessments & approvals within a consulting environment
• Thorough knowledge of the NSW Environmental Planning & Assessment Act & related legislation
• Highly developed interpersonal, written & verbal communication skills
• Excellent analytical and organisational skills
• Project management and budgeting skills
• Ability to work autonomously, and as part of a team

+ You will participate in a team environment, working closely as needed with Project Coordinators, Project Managers, Senior Project Directors/Technical Leads and field teams.
+ You will review environmental assessments including baseline environmental investigations, preliminary site investigations, detailed site investigations as necessary to understand the status of the site in terms of the Alberta Contaminated Lands Framework.
+ You will prepare liability assessments for a variety of clients following the most current AER requirements.
+ You will apply quality assurance/quality control measures in the completion of your assessments.
+ You will prepare the required deliverables and be familiar with AER's OneStop for report submissions when required.
+ Five or more years' experience in environmental assessment and contaminated sites practice areas.
+ Graduate degree or Equivalent.
+ Field experience is an asset. Experience in Site-Specific Liability Assessments (SSLA) addressing the AER Liability Management Framework.
+ Cost estimating experience including preparation of estimates related to Provisions / Asset Retirement Obligations for financial reporting.
+ Experience in due diligence acquisition and divestment transactions for oil & gas properties.
+ A bachelor's degree or diploma in environmental, earth sciences, engineering, or similar field from a recognized educational institution.
+ Extensive experience in data analysis using MS Excel/Access.

The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of relevant UK legislation and guidance and have experience working on projects based within the UK.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day delivery of UK based projects working closely with and being supported by other team members, Project Managers and Directors within the UK team.

You will have at least 5 years' post-graduate experience, an understanding of ground conditions, undertaking Preliminary geo-environmental Risk Assessments (PRAs / desk studies), Phase 2 contaminated land risk assessments reporting, including data handling and interpretation, and remediation strategies and validation reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of relevant UK legislation and guidance and have experience working on projects based within the UK.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day delivery of UK based projects working closely with and being supported by other team members, Project Managers and Directors within the UK team.
