**Responsibilities**
+ To provide support to the Ground & Water Team for all geo-environmental data management type activities (gINT, mobile data capture, incorporation of third-party data, AGS Data Validation / QA Checking / Import / Export).
+ gINT Database Management and support to consultants (data entry, data import + export, reporting, development of existing tools).
+ Troubleshooting and manipulation of gINT databases to provide the project team with the relevant data to support the writing of geo-environmental reports.
+ Providing mentoring to Ground & Water staff as required in relation to all gINT / Mobile Data Capture / Digital Reporting processes, inclusive of interactive PowerBI Dashboards.
+ Ongoing development of in-house field digital data capture processes and systems including development of new tools and supporting the implementation of digital innovation strategies.
+ Take an active role in promoting the use and understanding of AGS Data Transfer Format within the wider G&W team.
+ Aid in review and production of specifications for Ground Investigation Contracts in relation to delivery of digital data (AGS Data Transfer Format).
+ Supporting wider Environmental strategy for new systems development, consolidation and new technology in relation to the Ground & Water business unit.

**Key Competencies**

+ Intermediate to advanced knowledge of AGS Data Transfer Format (including variations of versions 3 & 4) is essential, along with practical experience of at least one Ground Investigation Data Management system such as gINT, HolebaseSI, OpenGround, Geodasy.
+ Proven experience acting in a senior role.
+ Practical experience of managing and understanding database relationships (e.g. Access, SQL, PostGreSQL)

Description
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at Vanderbilt University invites applications for a full-time Professor of the Practice faculty position in Environmental Engineering. The appointment will be made at the assistant professor, associate professor, or full professor level, depending on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate. Ideal qualifications include a Ph.D. degree in environmental engineering (or closely related field), prior teaching experience, professional experience, and Professional Engineer (PE) licensure (or a plan to sit for the PE exam). This is a term appointment, eligible for renewal, contingent on performance.
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate core courses with the opportunity to teach graduate-level courses and will develop additional courses as the curriculum evolves under the new vision for environmental engineering. While environmental engineering courses have been a long-standing part of CEE offerings, the Department introduced a new undergraduate degree program in environmental engineering in 2024. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the program's growth in the coming years. Furthermore, Vanderbilt University has recently launched the Vanderbilt Center for Sustainability, Energy, and Climate to address pressing challenges in these areas, which are of clear and immediate societal need. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the educational mission of this center. Teaching faculty will also participate in service to the Department and the School of Engineering, engaging in novel efforts to broaden participation, and deepen undergraduate research opportunities.
