This position ensures compliance with environmental regulations through data collection, analysis, and reporting, while providing guidance and support to internal teams on environmental issues specific to Shale & Tight Operations Assets. The role supported various environmental media, including air, water, waste, and biodiversity. The Environmental Reporting Analyst reports to the Environmental Team Lead in Chevron ENGINE in Bengaluru, India.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ For Upstream Oil and Gas Shale & Tight regulations, perform initial applicability and data analysis on environmental regulations for air, water, and waste, and evaluate alternatives to meet compliance requirements, articulate recommendations.
+ Ensure data collection methods and practices comply with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and standards.
+ Prepare reports to demonstrate compliance with environmental permits and regulations
+ Record and organize collected data systematically, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
+ Facilitate communication and coordination between internal teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting and compliance.
+ Partner with internal customers, such as operations, maintenance, capital projects, technical, and HSE teams, to compile data for assurance and reporting.
+ Develop and maintain systems for tracking and reporting on environmental performance and compliance metrics.
+ Identify and implement opportunities to embed and streamline environmental compliance activities within process data systems, for example, automated alarming and notification systems.
+ Perform quality reviews of environmental data and reports on issues and gaps.
+ Manage multiple projects/activities and competing priorities, including the tracking and delivery of key actions assigned.
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field.
+ Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental reporting, compliance, or permitting in the oil and gas industry.
+ Consistent demonstration of communicating areas of concern or identification of compliance concerns with regional business contacts.
+ Strong understanding and experience in data analysis tools and software; including Excel, SEEQ, and PowerBi . Able to provide environmental guidance and support to internal customers, such as operations, maintenance, capital projects, technical, and HSE teams.
+ Develop and maintain systems for tracking and reporting on environmental performance and compliance metrics.
+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex datasets with the ability to ensure compliance with environmental dataset/calculations regulations and standards.
+ Able to conduct quality reviews of environmental data and reports and identify and resolve issues and gaps.
+ Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present and simplify findings clearly to stakeholders
+ Capable of developing an understanding of local, and state environmental regulations and reporting requirements.
+ Experience advising on compliance actions, permit application preparation, and various regulatory submittals.
+ Strong communication skills and capable of working effectively in teams and across functions to deliver results.
+ Strong attention to detail, project management, and prioritization skills needed.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Proficient understanding of Shale and Tight process and operations. Proficient understanding of United States environmental quality regulations (air, waste, spill with demonstrated knowledge of state regulations in Colorado, New Mexico, North Dakota, and/or Texas.
+ Working knowledge of Upstream Shale and Tight Asset regulations.
+ Preference for candidates with knowledge of SEEQ and Power BI as well as specialized environmental reporting software (specifically Cority / ACTS
+ Proficient in the design and support of Low Code solutions and ability to apply technical skills across HSE and IT

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define business requirements and create functional specifications for regulatory reporting systems and processes.

Portfolio Compliance Group (PCG) is a global group which sits within Global Accounting and Product Services (GAAPS), a core functions within the Business Operations Group at BlackRock. PCG is responsible for implementing controls & processes, to ensure we are portfolio compliant and aligned with all regulatory and portfolio issued guidelines. This relates to trading and investments, including Aladdin pre-and post-trade compliance and non-Aladdin trading compliance; global syndicate offering review; ERISA & Fiduciary monitoring, and Global Thresholds reporting.
This role sits in the Disclosures Reporting Team and primarily focuses on monitoring and reporting of major shareholdings, short selling activities and Takeover Panel transactions. The remit of the role covers all major global investments. We are also responsible for disclosing and reporting various information to fund boards and clients, including sub-advised clients.
**You would like to:**

**Your daily tasks may include:**
+ Reviewing system reports of shareholdings against trade movements, and reporting holdings that have reached prescribed thresholds
+ Submitting disclosures in an accurate and timely manner & maintaining clear records of all filings and communications
+ Identifying holdings that are approaching prescribed threshold limits and engaging portfolio managers to allocate limited investment capacity, ensuring the best possible outcome for our clients
+ Working with our partners to improve processes and controls that build capacity and scale, and supporting automation
+ Performing ad-hoc analysis for our partners and clients
+ Maintaining procedures across all processes to ensure high-level quality control
+ Communicating with regulators and internal legal counsel regarding complex, sensitive topics
**You have:**
+ Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field (preferred but not required)
+ Recent experience or strong academics with a background in finance or similar field with a keen interest in the investment management industry and of investment products preferred
+ Experience in working with and developing strong and positive relationships with both internal and external partners
+ Strong control / risk mitigation mentality; ability to apply proven judgement as to when to raise issues
+ Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to work directly with clients and across all levels of staff and management. Ability to convey complex concepts simply and clearly to target audience
+ Focus on continuous improvement and process innovation.
+ Strong IT skills such as Microsoft Office applications and experience with Visual Basic and SQL (preferable)
