The candidate will be involved in:

1. Innovative Equipment Design : Focusing on developing automated equipment architectures to support scalable processes, driving new product designs while maintaining Apple product qualities .
2. Collaboration with Suppliers : Working with both internal teams and external equipment manufacturers to build fully automated equipment from the concept stage through to mass production (MP) .
3. Process Design and Testing : Performing design for manufacturability (DFM) reviews , failure analysis , and identifying improvement paths for new equipment technologies. Ensuring that new process architectures can scale for mass production.
4. Cross-functional Interaction : Working with teams in Product Design , Display Engineering , Display Operations , and international vendors to ensure a seamless design-to-production transition.
5. Advanced Automation Expertise : Extensive hands-on experience with industrial robots, PLC programming, and advanced automation systems, including tools like ABB , KUKA , Fanuc , and other robotics and automation systems.
6. Travel and Vendor Management : The role involves domestic travel (30%) and interacting with international suppliers and contract manufacturers.

• 5+ years of experience in automation and robotics for mass production applications .
• Expertise in robot selection and programming (ABB, KUKA, Fanuc, etc.), robot simulations , and PLC programming (Mitsubishi, Siemens, etc.).
• Strong background in CAD design for mechanical components and assemblies, using GD&T practices.
• Proficient in digital twin technology , safety integration , HMI programming , and the creation of part loading/unloading systems .

Job Purpose:

Responsible for proposal preparation and management, timely engineering approvals through engineering team for orders booked, taking part in R&D design and improvising design methods. Job Responsibilities / Accountability (major end results the job is expected to achieve):

Proposal Design and Management :

•Decipher enquiries received/allotted and read all technical data in detail.

•Discuss project enquiries with Sales Manager.

•Make note of all technical requirements and highlight key points.

•In case of any missing information, contact client and seek clarifications.

•Carryout design as per enquiry and design standards.

•Verify design and get it cross checked by Senior Design Engineer or Asst. Sales Manager.

•Discuss designed enquiries with Proposal Engineer/ Estimation Manager and explainentire scope and requirement to him.

•Fix date for completion of their design according to workload and deadlines.

•Solve technical queries of clients after sending offers and help prepare revised offer.

•Attend technical meetings if required.

Post Order Design:

•Read total technical specifications in purchase order.

•Highlight key technical points in purchase order.

•In case of any technical discrepancies between agreed points and order received,highlight to respective Sales representative immediately and seek clarification/ orderamendment.

•Set date for detailed design preparation.

•Prepare detailed design calculations.

•Provide input to drawing department to prepare fabrication drawing.

•Submit detailed design calculations to client.

•Review comments on design by client and revise accordingly.

•If comments by client indicate inclusion of items / modifications not as per scope,highlight to sales representative and inform client about commercial implication.

•Expedite approval of design calculations from client as per project team's requirement.

•Maintain approved calculations record.

•Inform Project Planning dept of clearances for manufacturing that are received based onpart approvals from client.

•Inform Project dept on freezing of all design points.

Job Summary: 

This role is part of the Special Purpose Machine (SPM) function at Kalwa, which is segmented into 

three core sub-functions: Mechanical, Electrical & OT (Operational Technology/OT), and 

Manufacturing IT. Each sub-function has its respective leaders reporting to SPM head position. 

The position is specifically responsible for leading the Electrical & OT team, ensuring successful 

execution of all electrical and OT-related aspects of machine design and implementation across

Roles and Responsibilities :

• To analyze client specifications.
• To prepare technical documents for RFQ based on John Cockerill requirements, applicable norms/rules at project location, and client specifications.
• To analyze technical offers from bidders and to align them with clarification sheets. Then to issue technical bid evaluation.
• Follow-up of detailed engineering by subcontractors after purchase order of equipment: Review of manufacturers documentation, such as fabrication drawings, calculation notes and procedures.
• To provide support to other disciplines, including support to project manager for clarifications with client.

To participate to integration of the main mechanical equipment into the electrolyser separation system. This includes:

• To collaborate with other disciplines (Process, Instrumentation, Structure, CAD, HSE ) for suitable integration of the system in skid mounted preassemblies.
• To provide guidelines and instructions to the drafting team for 3D model and 2D drawings.
• To verify coherence between P&ID, the system 3D model and the equipment design.
• To consider various project specific constraints (layout, accessibility, logistic, process ) to adapt the separation standard system design where needed.

Education and Experience

• Mechanical engineer.
• At least 8 years of experience in chemical, oil & gas, power, or heavy industry sectors.
• Interest in equipment design in a technically challenging process.
• Knowledge of international codes and standards, mainly ASME VIII div. 1, API and TEMA.
• Software knowledge: PV Elite, Compress or AutoPipe Vessel
• Experience in cladded vessels is an asset.
• Experience in material selection, corrosion resistance and welding is an asset.
• Good critical appraisal

• Languages: English - Professional working proficiency.
