Job Description
A dynamic, customer focused individual who has the drive and ability to operate confidently and, at times, independently to provide operational and maintenance support for the General Electric LM2500 Gas Turbine engine and supporting Auxiliary equipment.
This role is based in Mumbai / Kolkata (onsite at Kochi Shipyard as required).
In this role you will provide technical assistance for the installation, start up, preventative and/or corrective maintenance of the LM2500 / LM2500+G4 marine gas turbine engines (GT) and associated auxiliary support equipment (GTAE) during ship construction and in-service operation leading up to delivery.
**Job Description**
Site Overview:
+ This role is based in Mumbai / Kolkata Shipyard (onsite at Kochi Shipyard as required).
Role Overview
+ Overseeing and participating in the installation, power-up, functional checks, and operation of GT, and the GTAE for fuel, air, fire suppression, control, water wash, and ventilation systems.
+ Coordinating and generating responses to customer technical inquiries on GT and GTAE
+ Oversight of GT and GTAE repair and commissioning activities
+ Coordinating OEM field service representative (FSR) requirements in support of the commissioning of GT and GTAE systems.
+ Oversight of OEM FSR work activities and completion to include shipyard approval as necessary with supporting documentation.
+ On-site inspection and supervision of OEM FSRs dispatched in support of GT and GTAE systems.
+ Auxiliary system-to-gas turbine integration checks as well as GTAE system checks
+ After market service support of GT and GTAE system
+ Participate in meetings with Shipyards and Navy during installation, setting to work (STW), harbor acceptance trials (HAT) and sea acceptance trials (SAT).
+ Participate in IHQ meetings, as required.
+ Attend GE-sponsored technical hands-on training when available, e.g. borescope, hot section, cold section, controls, etc.
+ Administrative duties, as assigned.
The Ideal Candidate
+ The ideal candidate should have experience with aero-derivative gas turbines & shipyard background
Required Qualifications:
+ Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or current equivalent, with at least 5+ years of experience with aero-derivative gas turbines.
+ Up to 50% travel required including naval vessel underway periods at sea.
+ Willing and able to travel internationally.
+ Must be proficient in Microsoft 365 products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
+ Valid driving license and passport
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
+ Strong oral and written communication skills.
+ Naval or merchant navy ship construction / shipyard background
+ Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
+ Ability to read and understand control schematics
+ Prior naval or merchant navy engineering rating a plus.
+ A minimum of 2 years of experience specialising in marine propulsion or power generation maintenance, repair or inspection experience at the engineer or technician level, concentrating on the specific application of gas turbines
+ Additional consideration given to candidates who are GE OEM Level 2 trained (or naval gas turbine inspector training,) with 5 years gas turbine inspection experience or possessing 10 years marine /merchant navy / industrial gas turbine inspection experience.
+ This position requires candidate to routinely work on an as-needed and on-call basis

**Field** **Complaint** **Resolution:** Troubleshoot and resolve the field complaints related to Wabtec systems, providing timely resolution and closure of the complaints. Such requirement relates to troubleshooting the electrical, electronics, pneumatic or maintenance related issues and relacing the defective part to close the complaint within the contractual timelines.
**Installation** **and** **Commissioning:** Support the installation and commissioning of the Wabtec product and performing the required testing. Enabling customer to perform the task in a right manner if needed.
**Retrofit, Maintenance and Repairs:** Perform retrofit, regular maintenance and emergency repairs on Wabtec products inline with procedure and site requirement.
**Reporting** **and** **Documentation:** Report and record the field interventions performed by himself and associated team. The service engineer would require making a report of the issue and also get the Joint notes or associated document as needed by customer contract. Daily, weekly and Monthly reports to be submitted to manager.
**NCR** **and** **Failed** **Part** **Management:** Maintain accountability for Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), maintain consumed spares/Failed part and site spares data. Organizing the dispatch of the defective parts from site to plant in co-ordination with plant team.
**Customer** **Interaction:** Communicate effectively with clients to understand their issues and provide clear explanations of the work performed. Follow up the closure of Nonconformity reports and work orders issued.
**Travel:** Willingness to travel across India to various sites as needed for warranty, installation & Commissioning, retrofit and maintenance service for the customer order.
