- Understand the requirements of the Internal Control Programme (ICP) and SOX and ensure that the hotel is in compliance with both by performing regular audits.
- Assist in the completion of forecasts and budgets as instructed.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and schedules as directed, required by management and owners.
- Thoroughly familiar with the duties and procedures of other team members under your supervision within the Finance department.
- Assist and coordinate the internal and external audit process.
- Conduct Payroll Audit if FC is independent from payroll cycle.
- Ensure the hotel follows the government tax regulations and submit tax on time.
- Represent and liaise with all government authorities in regard to local tax matters, Price Control Bureau, foreign exchange, banks, pensions, etc.
- Liaise with local insurance companies regarding issues pertaining to local insurance coverage / issues.
- Be familiar and keep up to date with, all policies of both the hotel and Hilton insofar as finance is involved.
- Monitor daily bank cash position to ensure no overdraft incurred.
- Capable of functioning as Controller for short periods of time in the event that the Director of Finance
- Hands on and take an active role in daily activities within the department, ensuring that all work is up to date and assist team members where required.
- Assist the Director of Finance in providing commercial and financial information to assist in any decision-making process.
- Ensure PDRs are completed on schedule and actively develop team members' skills and behaviours.
- Oversee the training of Finance department team members.

Position Overview

The Financial Controller will serve as the technical anchor of the finance function, responsible for ensuring robust accounting, statutory compliance, financial integrity, and timely reporting across Schbang’s Indian and international entities. Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Reporting

  • Lead end-to-end accounting across India, UK, and Netherlands entities.
  • Ensure accuracy of books (Ind-AS, IFRS/UK GAAP compliance).
  • Oversee monthly/quarterly/annual closings.
  • Manage group consolidations and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Prepare and present MIS, management dashboards, and financial statements.

2. Statutory & Regulatory Compliance

We are seeking a senior Finance professional to oversee all financial operations for our Residential and Commercial portfolios. This leadership role requires expertise in finance, accounting, real estate, and tax compliance. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing complex financial systems, ensuring compliance, and driving strategic financial decisions.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

▪ Chartered Accountant

▪ 15+ years of experience in Finance & Accounts, preferably with a background in Real Estate


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Finance and Accounting Operations:

• Lead and manage all financial and accounting operations for the Residential portfolio.

• Oversee the overall financial operations of the Commercial portfolio, ensuring effective financial management and alignment with business objectives.

Internal Control and Compliance:

• Upgrade or Design, implement, and maintain a robust internal control system to ensure financial integrity and safeguard company assets.

• Conduct regular testing of internal controls and take corrective actions as needed to ensure adherence to compliance standards.


Debt Fund Management & Banking Relationships:

• Act as the primary liaison with banks and financial institutions to raise debt funds for the portfolios, ensuring timely loan servicing and optimal management of credit facilities.

• Foster strong relationships with corporate banking partners to ensure smooth day to day operations and cater to ad-hoc requests.


Data Management & Reporting Systems:

• Maintain a comprehensive financial database and ensure efficient ERP to meet the requirements of internal stakeholders, investors, and equity partners.

• Ensure adherence to high standards of corporate governance and meet both regular and ad-hoc compliance needs.


Team Management:

• Lead and mentor the Accounts and Finance team to ensure smooth operations and adherence to best practices. This role will require to manage and lead a team of 5-6 professionals.

Tax Compliance & Regulatory Adherence:

• Ensure timely and accurate compliance with tax regulations, including TDS, GST, PT, PF, ESI, and other applicable provisions. Liaison with various consultants/CA firms for ensuring proper compliance.

• Stay updated on evolving tax laws and regulations to ensure the organization remains compliant.

• Group Level tax planning


Financial Planning and Monitoring:

• Monitor and manage financial inflows and outflows at both the portfolio and entity levels, ensuring that financial activities align with budgeted targets and business objectives.

Management Reporting:

• Ensure Timely and accurate monthly Management Information System (MIS) reports to senior management, offering insights into financial performance, trends, and key metrics.

Auditor Relations and Audit Management:

• Manage relationships with internal and statutory auditors (including Big 4 or equivalent firms), ensuring efficient audits and timely resolution of any audit queries.

• Facilitate the preparation of annual financial statements and ensure compliance with accounting standards.


Real Estate Structures & Financial Instruments:

• Ability to understand various financial instruments and real estate structures (e.g., JDAs/JVs) along with their financial implications, including tax, GST, and accounting considerations.

Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members to support their professional growth.

6. Closing of Books accurately and on time: o Ensuring that books are closed accurately and in the given timeframe by following IndAS.



Technical Skills: • Financial Modeling: Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and analysis. • Data Analysis: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and present data effectively. • Financial Systems: Experience with financial planning software (e.g., Hyperion, Anaplan) and ERP systems. • Excel Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills, including the use of macros, pivot tables, and complex formulas. • Presentation Skills: Ability to create compelling presentations and visualizations (e.g., PowerPoint, Tableau). • Deep Knowledge of IndAS and Indian GAAP Behavioral Skills • Leadership: Demonstrates strong leadership qualities, inspires and motivates the team. • Strategic Thinking: Able to think strategically and provide long-term vision and insights. • Communication: Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex financial information clearly.

EXPERIENCE • Work Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in Finance Controller and Analysis, Accounting with at least 3-5 years in a Managerial role. • Industry Experience: Experience in the Cloud & Data Center Management industry or a related field is highly desirable. • Leadership Experience: Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams.
