As a Web Engineer you will focus on product development, work with your squad to finalize end to end solution and deliver the product to the Bank's digital channels. Responsibilities:
The successful candidate is responsible developing a new generation of Digital Banking to promote a better user experience to clients. The individual is going to be part of agile team developing world class leading mobile banking. Feature Ownership: Take complete ownership of features from technical design and development through testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance
Frontend Development: Design, develop, and maintain complex, responsive, and performant user interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks (strong Vue.js experience preferred, but experience in others like React/Angular is valuable)
Backend Integration: Develop and integrate Node.js/ Go services and APIs as needed to support frontend functionalities.
E-commerce Expertise: Build and maintain integrations with Shopify (APIs, Theming, Apps) and develop/manage WooCommerce plugins.
Performance Optimization: Implement and optimize Server-Side Rendering (SSR) strategies for improved performance and SEO.
Cloud Infrastructure: Utilize AWS services (e.g., S3, EC2, Lambda, CloudFront, API Gateway) for deployment, hosting, and application infrastructure.
Collaboration: Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, QA, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, provide technical insights, and deliver effective solutions.
Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior engineers through code reviews, pair programming and technical discussions, fostering their growth.
Technical Excellence: Champion best practices in code quality, maintainability, testing (unit, integration, E2E), and CI/CD processes.
Developer Experience: Actively contribute to improving the development environment, tooling, and overall developer experience (DX) within the team.
Ecosystem Awareness: Stay curious and up-to-date with the latest trends, libraries, and best practices within the frontend ecosystem, advocating for beneficial technologies.
Independence: Operate with a high degree of autonomy, managing priorities and delivering high-quality work effectively.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
(Typically 4-7+) years of professional software development experience, with a significant focus on frontend development.
Proven, hands-on experience building applications with at least one modern JavaScript framework (Vue.js, React, Angular, Svelte). Strong experience with Vue.js is highly desirable.
Demonstrable experience developing for or integrating with e-commerce platforms, specifically Shopify and/or WooCommerce (plugin development).
Experience implementing and managing Server-Side Rendering (SSR).
Practical experience working with core AWS services relevant to web application deployment and management.
Proficiency with version control systems (Git) and collaborative workflows (code reviews, branching strategies).
Strong understanding of core web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript ES6+, REST APIs).
Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and experience collaborating effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and take initiative.
Ability to follow agile best practices
Ability to provide exceptional attention to details of the product.
Ability to think ahead and anticipate problems, issues and solutions
Work well as a team player and help the team members to resolve issues
