- Assist in the completion of forecasts and budgets as instructed.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and schedules as directed, required by management and owners.
- Thoroughly familiar with the duties and procedures of other team members under your supervision within the Finance department.
- Assist and coordinate the internal and external audit process.
- Conduct Payroll Audit if FC is independent from payroll cycle.
- Ensure the hotel follows the government tax regulations and submit tax on time.
- Represent and liaise with all government authorities in regard to local tax matters, Price Control Bureau, foreign exchange, banks, pensions, etc.
- Liaise with local insurance companies regarding issues pertaining to local insurance coverage / issues.
- Be familiar and keep up to date with, all policies of both the hotel and Hilton insofar as finance is involved.
- Monitor daily bank cash position to ensure no overdraft incurred.
- Capable of functioning as Controller for short periods of time in the event that the Director of Finance
- Hands on and take an active role in daily activities within the department, ensuring that all work is up to date and assist team members where required.
- Assist the Director of Finance in providing commercial and financial information to assist in any decision-making process.
- Ensure PDRs are completed on schedule and actively develop team members' skills and behaviours.
- Oversee the training of Finance department team members.
- Coordinate departmental leave and organize the coverage of positions during team member absence.
- Create a pleasant working environment, ensuring productive and efficient work practices within the Finance team.
- Ensure that all internal control procedures are strictly adhered to and communicate any perceived weaknesses to the Director of Finance

Job Description

As our new Financial Controller, you will provide leadership to the Scott Bader India teams across all aspects of Financial Management and Governance.


You’ll continually raise the quality and focus of financial reporting, business performance and optimise the liquidity position.


You will develop and lead a high-quality team that continually provides a high level of service to fellow colleagues, customers, suppliers and all other stakeholders.


Some of your key responsibilities:

  • You’ll provide financial accounting and reporting activities to the Scott Bader India team.
  • You will manage the preparation for the annual financial audit for the Indian businesses, act as the key contact and ensure all necessary supporting information is available.
  • You’ll Ensure the filing of all statutory accounts, tax returns and other required tax and statistical information is completed accurately and on time.
  • You will ensure clear reporting of commercial performance, identifying opportunities to drive improvement, challenge the business around low performing materials and customers and work with the commercial team to develop and implement strategies seeking margin enhancement.
  • You’ll provide support to local management teams across organisational performance and operational day–to-day matters, including the translation of strategic objectives to operational deliverables.
  • You will Support the Regional CFO – Middle East & Asia with financial M&A / divestment / capex activities across India, covering the preparation of financial business case, board papers, integration / project plans and post completion reviews.


What do I need to be successful in this role?

  • We would love for you to have experience in managing & supervising a financial accounting department, ideally within manufacturing.
  • A recognised formal accounting qualification CA (Chartered accountant)
  • Commercial experience including compilation of project plans, JV’S and/or investment opportunities would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of shipping / banking / customs formalities highly desirable.
  • An enquiring mind with a drive to succeed, deliver excellence and effectively manage change.
