Udhyam Shiksha is looking for a Principal Specialist - Fundraising to anchor fundraising efforts and funder relationships across CSR, HNIs and Foundations


Responsibilities:

  • Actively scout for donors and raise funds as per Shiksha’s fundraising goals 

  • Own and manage funder relationships

  • Own and manage Funder Proposals: To create customized proposals, to target different funders, as per the need assessed by us or requested by them, in a timely manner.

  • Own and manage Funder reporting: Preparing individual project reports for the different projects, as per the format specified by funder Or as per internal template within the timelines agreed with funder (mostly quarterly, and annual)

  • Funder research: Conduct comprehensive online secondary research to understand funder interests and needs, to enable targeting the proposals well.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, attend key project meetings to understand realities of projects, and actively participate in discussions, when needed.

  • Misc: Other tasks related to the project, as and when they arise, and as per team’s requirement.


The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven track record of raising funds from large institutional donors, CSRs and HNIs

  • Sound experience in managing donor relationships

In this position with Roundglass Foundation (Foundation), you will be responsible for implementing an action-oriented annual fundraising plan and establishing the network & relationships to secure the revenue for the Foundation’s philanthropic efforts.


You will work directly with the India Leader for the Foundation, and members of the thematic teams to build the pipeline of support from individuals, foundations, corporates, and other funding sources. This role would also require you to interface regularly with the Founder to advance the Foundation’s vision. You will build and grow a team that will keep pace with the program growth and on-ground expansion in India and will ensure that the annual fundraising targets are set and met through a coherent approach, engaging all key stakeholders internally and externally.

What you’ll do:


  • Create the roadmap and strategy for the Foundation’s fundraising with clear short-, medium-, and long-term objectives based on a shared vision of desired outcomes
  • Develop a national network of diverse supporters strengthening the existing network and adding new champions and donors
  • Build a diverse portfolio approach to fund raising in order to ensure effort and target distribution across different kinds of sources
  • Proactively execute multiple aspects of the plan engaging high net worth individuals, corporations, foundations and other pertinent entities
  • Work closely with Foundation Leader(s) to put in place and in use an effective fund channelization and utilization process along with clear measures to determine net value added in the targeted thematic areas
  • Keep initiative teams informed on emergent trends and outlook in terms of long - standing partnership and/or support commitments to ensure that our operating designs are simple, relevant and practicable in terms of measurable impact
  • Use the understanding of leading-edge philanthropic pipeline and cause related marketing management to drive related funding endeavors across different thematic areas of the Foundation Work with cross-functional teams to continually identify opportunities for enrichment and augmentation of fundraising opportunities and impact


Who we’re looking for:


  • Master’s degree in Business, Social Sciences, or another related field with a minimum of 10 years of experience of having worked in a direct fundraising and partnership role with at least 3 years in a leadership position. Experience with social or development sector organizations would be preferred.
  • A driven and empathetic leader who can work across boundaries and get things done
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision and comfort with the ambiguity of the fundraising universe
