Role Description
This is a part-time hybrid role for a Garment Designer located in Meerut with work-from-home flexibility. The Garment Designer will be responsible for creating and developing innovative and functional designs for various garments. The day-to-day tasks include designing clothing concepts, creating technical sketches, selecting fabrics and materials, and collaborating with other designers, pattern makers, and production teams. The Garment Designer will also be involved in trend research and creating mood boards to guide the design process.
Qualifications
- Garment Design, Fashion Illustration, and Technical Sketching skills
- Experience in Fabric Selection, Textile Knowledge, and Material Sourcing
- Trend Research and Mood Board Creation skills
- Proficiency in Design Software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop) and CAD applications

Title: Garment Technologist
Location: Tiruppur, India
Responsibilities:
- To manage the garment technical process from initial development sample to shipment.
- To manage the initial customer technical design packs, working with the factory sample rooms to develop technically correct, fit-correct, right-first-time samples and made to the correct production viable standard.
- To conduct a risk assessment for each technical design pack, to anticipate potential issues and put actions in place during the fit approval process to ensure bulk production is correct.
- To critically assess all supplier samples in India–Tirupur for fit, construction, product safety and visual appearance before sending to the customer.
- To create the Excel working document for each style, to update at each stage with correct comments and share on the platform for customers’ feedback.
- To manage the critical path ensuring all technical approvals are given at the correct time in order for the factory to ship on-time.
- To support the internal Fabric and Merchandising teams on day-to-day problem solving activities to ensure no delays on the critical path.
Requirements:
- Minimum 4–5 years’ experience in factory sample room or Buying/License office as a Garment Technologist/Technician.
- Excellent background knowledge for embellishment development (Print / Embroidery).
- Knowledge of pattern making is essential.
- Experience with the 3D tool is an advantage.
- Excellent command of English, being able to communicate directly with UK buying / technical teams.
- Excellent knowledge of Excel worksheets and computers.
