What will you do in this role?
We are seeking a detail oriented and motivated GIS Operational Analyst to join our team. This role will involve you in real-time data collection, data interpretation and visualization and performing spatial operations on geospatial data for natural catastrophe monitoring. You will use this data to support decision-making and analyze the impacts of natural catastrophes such as floods. Working with diverse datasets, you will utilize a variety of GIS software and tools to extract meaningful insights and provide effective solutions. Collaboration is key, as you'll be working with multidisciplinary teams across different time zones. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical and GIS skills, a passion for disaster analysis and/or management, excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, good communication skills, and adaptability to working with different time zones. As a GIS Operational Analyst, your daily tasks will be:
- Responsible for activation, verification and delivery of the analysis output to the customers in accordance with SOP while adhering to the established service level agreement
- Actively participates in live operations, conducting real-time flood analysis and delivery activities while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
- Contributes to meeting and exceeding KPIs. Monitors metrics and contributes to KPI reviews. Keeps tools updated with accurate information about progress and status

- Extensive experience with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and remote sensing tools for geospatial analysis and data visualization
- Strong understanding of geospatial concepts, coordinate systems, cartography, and spatial analysis techniques
- Excellent problem-solving, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills, especially under pressure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to communicate technical information to diverse audiences

- Deliver GIS support services and spatial data to assist the Development Teams in meeting project goals efficiently.
- Actively support Project, Development, and Engineering Managers throughout all project stages, from initial concept to construction.
- Ensure timely, effective, and efficient technical and administrative support for Development Managers.
- Analyze GIS-related data, including topographical and other external consultant data, to provide precise project information.
- Generate preliminary electrical, building, and substation layout drawings for the Development & Engineering teams upon request.
- Source and update GIS data sets regularly.
- Design and update ESRI mobile GIS applications.
- Help automate workflows and develop new tools using ModelBuilder, ArcPy, Python, and JavaScript as needed.
- Prepare maps, manage shapefiles and geodatabases.
- Digitize data and perform geoprocessing tasks (such as buffering and clipping) promptly.
- Provide recommendations for optimal project site layouts in collaboration with engineering teams.
- Deliver technical presentations on the latest mapping hardware, software, and solutions available globally.
- Stay informed on emerging GIS research and participate in related conferences and training sessions.
Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- 5-8 years of relevant experience working with Geographic Information Systems.
- Proficiency in GIS platforms such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar.
- Strong understanding of geographic and spatial concepts, with the ability to analyze spatial datasets effectively.
- Knowledge of programming languages like Python, R, or SQL.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- A proactive self-starter capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines.

Position Overview
