Job Description
We are training an AI/LLM engine that links natural-language issue reports to the exact commits and functions that resolve them. Your expertise with Git will power the “ground-truth” labels this system needs to learn. If you live and breathe git log, love untangling commit histories, and enjoy detective-style code spelunking, we want to hear from you.
- Type: Task Based Hourly
- Location: Remote — India strongly preferred
- Trace issues to fixes – Read GitHub/GitLab issue descriptions, PR conversations, and commit messages to pinpoint the code changes that truly closed the bug or implemented the feature.
- Label & rank commits – Assign confidence scores and explanatory notes that teach ML models which commits matter most.
- Repository deep-dives – Navigate mono-repos, multi-module projects, and microservice layouts; understand function‐level changes across branches.
- Quality-control peer work – Review annotations from fellow specialists, flag mismatches, and refine guidelines to drive consistency.
- Process feedback – Suggest improvements to the annotation playbook as new repo patterns, tooling, or edge cases emerge.
- 3–4 years daily, hands-on use of Git in a professional software development or DevOps environment.
- Mastery of Git commands (rebase, bisect, cherry-pick, advanced diff/patch workflows).
- Proven ability to read and interpret diverse codebases (at least one of: Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, C#, or C/C++).
- Familiarity with pull-request review culture on GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
- Strong analytical writing skills—able to distill why a commit solves an issue in crisp, technical language.
- Exposure to secure-coding or vulnerability-fix commits (OWASP, CVE patches, SAST findings).
- Scripting know-how (Python, Bash) for automating repo searches or generating diffs.
- Flexible hours & remote freedom .
