Job Role - Configuration Management

Experience Range: 5 to 10 years

Job Description

Must Have:

• Experience in Configuration Management (CMDB). To work as Configuration Manager and monitor, handle and resolve Configuration Management requests.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills backed by sound analytical, technical skills. A Team player as well as a Self-Starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities under aggressive deadlines.
• To interact with Clients via emails, conference calls, etc. Ensure assigned tasks are completed within targets (SLA) set (the tasks include incidents, service requests, identified problems,
• Participate in Client audit and interact with client on understanding various processes.
• To take ownership of various type of reporting.
• Follow up and work across various teams and monitor and also review processes followed across teams for meeting reporting SLA (Service Level Agreement) criteria.
• Evaluate, analyze, and map business processes working with the Business Units to determine possible solutions to increase efficiencies and productivity as part of CSI (Continues Service Improvement).
• Experience in requirements gathering and analysis/documentation of business requirements and communicating to its stakeholders.
• Extensive experience in gathering and analyzing various types of data and processes, and developing specific reports according to it.
• Work on Client deliverables documents and presentations and present it to client and Management.
• Work on exclusion/exception according to SLA (Service Level Agreement) and follow up with teams for same.
• Work on problems reported and escalation of issues.
• Excellent time management, communications, decision-making, and planning skills with the ability to learn quickly and multi-task in a fast paced environment.

Job Role and Responsibilities:  

1.    Configuration Management representative with experience of 5 to 6 years. 

2.    Should have ability & authority to ensure daily end-to-end delivery of Configuration Management services in accordance with this Configuration Management Plan. Specific responsibilities include:  

3.     Managing the day-to-day activities of the process, including establishing priorities and work assignments  

4.    Db Script Maintenance, Version Maintenance of Critical Documents, experience on Version Recon during major releases. 

5.    Tracking compliance to policies and procedures and resolving / escalating any compliance issues  

6.    Facilitating and participating in Configuration Management audits and getting closure of any compliance findings. 

7.    Reviews critical incident results and responses and dispositions of failed changes due to CMS related issues  

8.    Facilitates communication and engages various teams to encourage compliance to all configuration management actions.  

9.    Mentors the team on Configuration Management services, concepts, policies and procedures

About the Role:

We are looking for a Software Configurator to join our Software Presales team. In this role, you will work closely with internal teams to configure software applications based on business needs. You will help plan, maintain, and manage different software instances used by the team. This role also supports partner teams by helping troubleshoot configuration-related issues and ensuring the system is running smoothly for demos, testing, and client discussions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure the software platform based on business use cases and internal team requirements.
• Set up, plan, and manage multiple software instances (e.g., for demos, testing, or client-specific needs).
• Support Sales, Product Management, and Client Delivery teams during the presales cycle with configuration-related needs.
• Help troubleshoot and resolve issues faced by internal users or partners using configured instances.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and presales consultants to ensure configurations are accurate and aligned with goals.
• Maintain documentation and version control of configurations across environments.
• Participate in internal planning calls and begin working with external partners on a case-by-case basis.
• Perform other related support tasks as required.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in an area with an analytical or technical focus.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in software configuration, presales support, or a related technology environment.
• Good understanding of procurement processes such as Source-to-Pay (S2P) and Procure-to-Pay (P2P).
• Familiarity with platforms like GEP, Coupa, Ariba, Ivalua, or Zycus is a plus.
• Experience managing multiple tasks and working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive mindset.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Willingness to work in a hybrid setup, with at least 3 days in office per week.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):

• Prior experience configuring enterprise procurement or workflow-based platforms.
• Familiarity with software release cycles, version control, or configuration best practices.

Exposure to working with presales, consulting, or customer success teams.
